If you are streaming music outdoors I recommend getting some of these : ) however I'm from the U.K so don't have the luxury of LA weather : )

I guess I fail to understand the need to stream music to every single corner of the house, inside and out.
If you are in your room, why do you need music synced to the backyard? If you're taking a ****, why does the music need to play in the garage? And even if you have a bunch of friends over, are they really roaming around the entire house, in every room?
I mean unless your job is to throw giant bashes at your place a couple times per week, seems like a simple Chromecast setup in a living room/garage/patio would be pretty simple.

Props for this post--brilliant knowing OP is the OP of that Costco thread. Well done.

Yes indeed, those pallets!!!

Having said that—and with due consideration of the lame-ass Costco thread—I have to give full props to Sparks for his greatest all-time 2+2 achievement... drumroll please...

Spoiler:
***180° transformation from Steak Moran to Grillmeister Supreme***

Yes, I rank this achievement far, far ahead of the fly-and-land-a-plane-with-absolutely-no-actual-flight-experience shtick. Meh, most likely any die-hard-gamer-flight-simulator-nerd could achieve this. However, to undergo a radical transformation from olive-oil-flame-tard to Grillmeister Supreme was so startling and unexpected that it pretty much blew my mind. I genuinley do not ever expect to witness such a metamorphosis again in my lifetime.

It was just unreal.

Well, I feel a little defeated, but what's new. I won't argue with the consensus (everybody) that music in multiple rooms is just ordinary these days, and nothing to get too excited about. It's hard to keep up with the stratospheric coolness of posters here, and god bless you all. You've helped me before and I know you'll keep assisting me with your frank call-outs. But believe me, I won't stop trying.

And in that spirit, in a desperate attempt to redeem myself, I offer only this: a 20 second vid of me besting, at least temporarily, a squirrel. He ate 2/3 of my nectarines on a young tree I planted last fall, and after a cylinder around the trunk didn't work, nor netting over the top of the tree, I fell back on my experience as an electrical engineer. See his reaction when he touches both wires of the 800 volt (only 10 watts) circuit I strung up in the tree. Cheers.

I have Sonos in about 8 or 9 rooms in my house. I have Chromecast Audi in 1 room and 2 zones on a deck so 3 zones total. Sonos is easy and has a good app for music (but not Audibile or Podcasts).

Sonos wins on ease of use, unified app experience, loses on cost, and Audible/Podcasts.

Chromecast Audio wins on cost (in a big way) and Podcasts/Audible.

It's really unbelievable - you are going to basically need 2 sets of speakers in every room for the perfect experience. There is no way to listen to podcasts on Sonos other than the crippled Sticher app which doesn't have previous podcasts and doesn't allow you to resume if you stop the podcast for a while. There is no audible option directly in the Sonos App.

If all you want is music and you only use 1 source (i.e. 1 Streaming Service) then Chromecast Audio wins.

Sonos's future as a company is interesting. Their price point is really ****ing high. The app is good, but the issues I listed above will probably never be resolved.

Why would you ever need a podcast playing throughout an entire house?
Music I can sort of understand, but podcasts??

Ah gotcha. I just (wrongly apparently) assumed a chat or talk show type podcast

Well, if you want to listen to podcasts or audible in one room, you have the same issues.

If you want lots of zones and are on a budget, then chromecast audio is the way to go, if budget is of no concern then it is hard to beat
Sonos for ease of use and set up but you can kiss podcasts and audible goodbye.
