I keep ketchup packs on my desk cause I'll often bring food back from the kitchen and then realize my corndogs or tater tots or whatever need ketchup so I'll have to go back to the kitchen.

I also save Arby's sauce cause, like, I don't think you can buy that.

Give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe it was a bet.

i would consider re-using tea bags to be less tight than stashing condiment packets. i think most people who re-use tea bags do it out of an opposition to waste rather than financial considerations. but seriously **** weak tea

How long would it be before he would reuse them? I could see maybe trying to get 2 cups out of one bag back-to-back if the water was still hot.

Nothing wrong with saving condiments but filling up a bottle with the packets is kind of .

This reminds me of when I worked at Home Depot. There were employees there that would clock out a min. late 4x a week and on the 5th day of the week, they would leave an hr early to "cut" time. Of course management was oblivious to this and never did anything.
Yeah id believe that. Our paychecks always show exact minutes worked though. Now something that is a semi big deal that even i do is that every 6 hours a 30 minute break is taken out, so if you work for a multiple of 6 hours you want to clock out a little early so its only something like 11 hrs 59 minutes, since then just one break is taken out. I did that at the end of a ****ing 18 hour shift once.

Re: Stingiest thing you've seen someone do

Had a guy I used to work with that skimped on everything. Anytime someone was eating their lunch he would ask if he could have some. Sometimes he was just str8 up grab some food w/out asking. One time we had all pitched in to buy some pizza. We all could probably have an avg. of 4 pcs or w/e. This guy managed to eat 4 or 5 pcs during lunch, another 4 or 5 pcs when he snook into the break room while everybody was working. He also managed to sneak 4/5 pieces to bring home. He did **** like this all of the time. He was making 45-50k and owned some rental property so it wasn't like he was broke.

Another one was the wife of a guy I worked with. We had lunch w/10 ppl who I worked w/ or had retired. We got our food quick and our waitress was awesome so I and some other ppl tipped well. After I paid my bill I left just to find out from one of the women that ate w/ us that his wife stole the tip.

Re: Stingiest thing you've seen someone do

I have a friend who is stingy but really he's more just selfish than stingy. Like, he spends money on himself and himself only but is very hesitant when it comes to other people.

He's worth a comfortable amount of money and bought a year old Corvette with cash but he'll remind me that I owe him a dollar from 4 months ago or something. It's like he's different from everyone else. He'll make a stink about things that most people wouldn't even consider as a thought. And I think everyone is highly annoyed by it because he spends plenty on himself (clothes, 2 cars, LASIK, a ****ing bedroom set for his apartment? lol) but always plays poor when around friends.

I think this has a large part to do with him being 32 and single still.

A bedroom set for an apartment is extravagant? Do you want him to live out of moving boxes or what?

Re: Stingiest thing you've seen someone do

I'm almost positive my great-grandma washed and re-used paper plates. I don't remember if I saw this or my mom told me but she did live through the great depression.

She was pretty awesome though, and outlived my 4 grandparents by 8 years minimum. She died when I was 14 at age 95 back in 1993 (1897-1993).

I just thought it was weird that a 30 year old single guy would spend so much money on a bedroom set when he changes apartments like every year. Seemed pretty dumb to me. Anyway maybe that's not weird but I'm trying to make the point that he is wont to spend money on himself but acts like he's allergic to it when amongst friends.

Re: Stingiest thing you've seen someone do

this from awhile ago but will never forget it

me and about 10 friends used to go my friends house 1 or 2 times a week,to play cards about 2-3 years ago. we are all fiarly close friends. so this one guy matt has been out of a job for a year or so while trying to do a plumbing course or something along them lines. anyway we decide to play another 5 tourney but matt has no money my friend wayne who owns the house we all playing at decides to lend him the 5 so matt binks the tounrey for like 35 or w/e and during this time wayne lost the rest of his money playing sidegames (we all busto) anyway we decide to play another 5 tourney so wayne asks matt for his 5 back matt says no, saying he hasnt got enough to lend cause he hasnt got a job and what not. we are just sitting there saying wtf are you on about he just give you money and shipped, so after 5 minutes of arguing i give wayne the 5 to play and make a note of how much a dick he is.

the same guy gave my friend a lift home at like 1-2 in the morning and dropped him off 1 min away from his house cause he wanted to save petrol or some BS, my friend drunk pissed gets out shouts at him at him then kicks his car door in

Re: Stingiest thing you've seen someone do

OMG that reminds me of my stingiest story.

Heads up in the finals of a $5 NL 5 card draw tournament (oh yeah!) at my place with a bunch of friends. I have the guy outchipped like 5-1. I have two pair or something decent and ask him how much he has left. He counts it out and tells me, and I say "Alright I'll put you in." He says "OK" and flips over his cards. I have him beat. He then proceeds to tell me that since he never said "Call" or actually put his chips in the middle, he was FOLDING.

He was never invited back.

My girlfriend and I were eating lunch at IHOP (beat), and my girlfriend noticed some guy sitting at another table get a styrofoam to-go box for his leftovers and proceed to steal the ketchup and tabasco bottles from his table by sticking them in the to-go box.
