He and the MIL lived in our spare room for a couple of years. During that time, the power bills would be around $600/month (primarily due to using ****ty electric heaters and showering all the time). He also would use more than a loaf of bread a day, and a tub of margarine and a packet of coffee every 3 days (NOT EXAGGERATING). The margarine was plastered on like cake icing.

He also signed me up to pay half of a $80/week storage unit , to store his and the MIL's stuff, since they couldn't be bothered putting it tidily in our garage. Even after I realized what had happened and cancelled the storage, it actually turned out that the board they paid came to significantly less than even the power and food they used, let alone any charge for the room.

To top that all off, he then went and bought a 50 inch TV and mounted it on the wall in their room.

We probably lost about $9000 over the 2.5 years having them there. I was pretty angry about this, but didn't bring it up because the wife knew that he would rant at her mother about it and didn't want that to happen.

Anyway, they finally move out and our power bills return to $150-$200 a month.

Now here's the fun bit. We had to go and stay with them for a week while our house had earthquake repair work done.

First of all, the order was given that if their powerbill increased at all, then we pay the difference above its usual value.

Secondly, when we get there, we find there's no food. We actually have to buy food so that the mother-in-law can eat, not to mention ourselves. (Yes - we feed him when he lived with us, and we feed him when we live with him).

He's working 70 hours a week, but it's all going on paying off a credit card rather than feeding his family. The MIL's wages have to pay off his credit card as well. Never mind that their combined income is more than mine is (and I'm feeding two kids as well)

Also, we have to buy all the food for the Christmas dinner.

Did I mention that there's three 24-packs of beer in the fridge though?
IDK, if I am more pissed at you or the POS. You do deserve everything that happened after month 1 of them staying with you.

When she arrived at work she was told that a group of golfers, more importantly Tiger Woods had reservations for the night, and she was assigned to the section where they would be dining. Naturally she was excited to meet such a well known super athlete, and im assuming she thought she was going to get "paid". The night went as planned and there were no major problems as I have been told. She collects payment (assuming credit card) and goes to process and looks to see that Tiger Woods himself has left her a $10 tip on an $85 dinner. I can only imagine how disappointed she must have been. My friend told me she cried over it lol We all got a laugh from it though.

That may seem like somewhat of a standard tip, but seems quite frugal when you are one of the wealthiest global athletes ever. This was long before anyone knew how much of a tool he was.
Not to bring back something that wasn't already discussed several times over, but I was reading an article on foxsports website today about Tiger and it made me laugh and think of this thread/post in particular.

Woods would finish his dinner at a restaurant even when he was with his wife, Elin he'd get up, leave without a word and expect everyone to follow, even if they were still eating.

"When he was done and he habitually ate fast you were done," Haney recalls.

And whenever they got takeout, Haney would have to pick up the food and the tab. "He seemed to think it was funny to be cheap."

Re: Stingiest thing you've seen someone do

not sure if this can be considered cheap due to how overpriced the beers are
in yankee stadium a 12 ounce beer is like 11 or 12 bucks
when i go to any other teams park ill pay the 4-5 bucks for a beer, i also go out to bars a lot
but they can smd for a 12 dollar beer

when its still cold out and im wearing a lot of clothes i will usually go to the bodega buy 4 beers and sneak them in
the stay cold bc of the weather and ive only been caught once

ten mins before the game i went thru securty, went to scan my ticket and it wasnt working so they sent me to another line, where i went thru securiry again and it still wouldnt scan
they sent me all the way around the stadium to go to customer service and have a new one printed
by the time i did that it was already the second inning and the entrances were pretty empty so they actually took the time to search me
the guy found my beer and said to his friend "do you beluieve this mother ****er actually thought he could get in with these?"

Yes, any mass produced light beer among others.

I don't imagine anyone sneaking beer in for $1 beer night is drinking out of bottles. These have to be cans.

The cheapest canned 12oz (355ml) beers are in the neighborhood of $0.75 USD if you buy in bulk.

I was totally shocked at how expensive beer was in Australia. You'd think a nation of drinkers like that would revolt.

Everything is expensive there.

Even $0.75 for beer in the can seems expensive for the crappiest stuff. It's been a while since I've even looked at it, but I thought it was closer to $0.50.

I've been home brewing though, and cost for that is about 40 cents a bottle and quality is pretty good, only a little bit of time, can't beat that!
