Should be shot imo.

What are thoughts about bringing flasks to bars?

People can seem cool and then you live with them and see all of their gaping flaws. It isn't hard to fall into a bad spot.

AAAAND bingo. Lived on this kids floor sophomore year, seemed fine. Then my current roommate lived with him but in an on campus apartment and he said he noticed he was a little cheap.

Then this year happened...

Just remembered one. When I was in school I got a 3rd shift job at the 7/11 so I could study and do homework while I worked. The guy who trained me showed me how to ring up hot food to go, and told me to put a code in before ringing the hot dogs which I never thought twice about.

I worked there a few months until my manager asked me why I was giving my coworker all of the credit for the hot dog sales. He didn't figure it out until my coworker was out for an entire week, but still got credit for the sales. Apparently there was a 5 cent (possibly 10 but I think it was 5) commission employees got when they sold a hot dog.

I was entering his employee number every time I sold a hot dog. He must have made $1-$2 off of me before my manager told me.

So you guys are supposed to "upsell" customers on hotdogs?

This is kinda the opposite of stingy, just pathetic really... Guy I know is spectating the final table of a tournament I'm in on Pstars.. I'm guaranteed $1800 and he asks me if I'll send him $0.10 so he can buy in to some tournament 'cause apparently he was only $0.10 short. Sure np man.

He shows up at my house later that night (bout 10 blocks) and knocks on my door. I'm like "hey..? how's it going?" he's like "yo man, i just wanted to drop off that dime you lent me on Pstars, thanks a again man, I really appreciate it."

My jaw dropped so fast and I burst out laughing. He had seen me take down like $3000 (thinly veiled brag) and is walking 10 blocks to my house to drop off a dime. He's one of those pottheads that is just soooo broke, it was just too funny. He's got no concept of.. anything but, he's just got a heart of gold. Just one of those guys you can't hate but want to.

Don't get me wrong, the guy's a good friend of mine and has been for a while. It's just tragically hilarious to witness his regard for money, and how he applies it to other people.

Knowing him, he wasn't giving the money just as a nice gesture, trust me, he truly thought I would care. Anyways, I blazed him up a bowl and shipped him $10 on Stars for the sweat.

Can't wait to crank it up to 90 in May in the middle of the night and then go sleep on my friends couch a couple of blocks away while he's fast asleep.

Wish there was a way I could make the needle point to off but the heat really be all the way cranked up.

There is. Buy a 2nd thermostat and hide it either on the other side of the wall, or inside the wall. Set it, and replace original thermostat, but leave it unhooked.

I had to do this once in an upstairs tenant/downstairs tenant situation once. She didn't understand that if she closed her upstairs heat vents that her temp would stay the same, and I'd get more heat. I cut the thermostat wires to her suite and installed my own.

Just laughed out loud while finishing up my milk before I check out of my hotel room. Thought of double down's dad chugging the water jug he bought while holding up the airport line.

Awesome. For the record, I do want to state that it's only in these quirky and ultimately petty ways that my dad is "stingy" but in the grand scheme he is an incredibly generous person. He's been helping me out significantly ever since I've been out of a job since the Apokerlypse of last Friday, helping me pick up the pieces of my life, financially speaking.

Just feeling a little bad about the stories in retrospect since he really is truly one of the warmest and kindest people I know. He just likes free shtuff and deals.

Any chance he is thinking....hey, if I go over to his house under the pretence that I owe him a dime, maybe I can get it on what must be a great party after he just racked up 3K???
