Ya I don't either. And it isn't like some super jock alpha male testosterone feeding frenzy behavior. I know that, partially am that, surrounded by it and stupid as it can be there are limits to the desensification of that kind of group. Like, how could not one of any influence stop it and just not be the worst type of human ever.

Almost every other post you've made in this thread doesn't have to be squinted at very much to be seen as protecting the perpetrators. How could this be un premeditated with the information on LocalLeaks site? How could this be at all the victims fault based on the LocalLeaks information?

this is the thread. 2300 posts, started on august 20th when it started to come out...really long and meandering in some spots, but if anyone wanted to read more.

steubenville 'big red' fans are known for being insane about their football team. i think i read a little in the fall about it, then got pissed about how they were more concerned with how it would affect the football team than anything so i stopped reading it.

also, all of the accused were playing well into the season.

also part 2: coaches were involved in the coverup.

crazy thing is that that site is pretty good about keeping nonsense out. people talking bad about high school kids are quickly booted. it's a really clean place, just reading that first page...eww.

Obviously horrible in every way imaginable, but do we know that photo of the guys holding the girl is from the actual rape? For all we know, it could be some kids clowning around.

supposedly the picture isn't her passed out. it was a joke picture and her friends said that at that point she wasn't drugged/passed out, just posing for a picture.

The entire reason this was kept hush hush from the rest of the country was the parents fault.

Nah, I don't think these kids' families are wealthy enough to get a lawyer that is able to dismiss what is essentially a videotaped confession.

The video of the kid talking for 12 minutes was utterly disturbing to me.

It's going to be really sad to see what kind of pathetic excuse the defence will come up with after being caught telling the truth. Something about this case just makes me so angry. I'd really like to see these guys explain themselves live on CNN or whatever the biggest news show is in the USA. I want to see these guys cry and beg for mercy and then to be told no and that they will suffer for this. Maybe even castrate them. No way any of these guys would be allowed to have kids.

How is it possible to give someone date rape drug, wait until their out cold and rape them, and it not be pre meditated? The rape was not spontaneous. It was planned for at least as long as it took the drugs to take effect.

While I am beyond disgusted with the young men that did this, my seething contempt is mostly aimed at the prosecutor or also happens to be one of the alleged perpetrators' mother, the coaches, the sheriff, and all the other adults that are covering this up-- for the sake of what? A high school football program?

I think it is very important to not jump to conclusions and allow accusations to be just as damning as convictions (which I do think is a serious problem in sexual violence cases), but when someone close to you is accused, you don't cover it up. You don't use your position to convince the girl and her parents to not press charges. You remand yourself from the case, and let the justice system play out as it will. This sort of cover-up, of a rape, perpetrated by someone in a position of power such as this Hanlin lady, should be punishable in the harshest way.
