FWIW: Even if the mentioned apt building got sued, that doesn't mean a court held them liable. In fact, there's little chance that a court would have. However, the cost of defending against the lawsuit might've been enough to get them to settle or, more likely, the mere threat of a lawsuit was enough to get them to drop whatever penalty they were trying to impose.

1) Take the money you would have to pay for the fine.

2) Go to local bar.

3) Get trashed.

4) ?????

5) Profit!

Just wait for next occurance, be watching non-stop, when lazy sorry ass culprit does it again, just come up from behind and wak with bat...this person needs to be fixed at a molecular level..

If your not violent, then just locate persons apartment, and begin taking live craps on thier front step..Have some mexican food with some mescal, the mix will create a powerfull explosion..You dont want them to have a convienient turd-log to pick up!! We're looking for full on green apple splatters...A debris field, if you will..Please dont be a typicall citizen and file a complaint..Handle this yourself, feel accomplishment, enjoy justice..

I would put trash and ticket in front of someone else door so they think someone put their trash in front of their door then landlord gave them the ticket.

why do you get tickets for putting trash in front of your apt?

Set up a camera with the hope of catching the guy next time he does it.

Then find out where he lives and start vandalizing his house/apartment. Maybe stalk him one night and beat the **** out of him.

It's best not to involve the police in this matter. They are not your friends.

I hadn't considered that, as I don't know much about Canadian law. But yeah LOL if you need a search warrant to go through trash in Canada.

Discarded or abandoned property has pretty solid recognition in the courts as being an exception to 4th amendment protection against government search and seizure. There are probably minor difference in different US jurisdictions (like when it's considered "abandoned"), but once it meets that abandoned criteria it's fair game. Anything out in the public domain that anyone could take can also be taken by the police.

yeah dont pay the ticket and go to court and explain it to the judge. Chances are they will take it or away or at least reduce it
