Yeah I got that early along with 2 other huge 100 point words (Z was on TL near an S TW) and was hoping you'd miss one. I just didn't get enough medium scoring words.
beating chronick in one round happens for me somewhat often - it's winning 2 rounds, and not having a round where he steamrolls me, is really hard. have probably played well over 100 games vs him and won 2
I've won a lot more than 2 but my winning percentage is still very low, your analysis is pretty spot on though. He always gets more words than me which almost always leads to Round 1 victories but I can get like 15 words less than him in round 3 and still beat him if he misses some suffixes or prefixes that lead to big word combos
yeah i used to be a single freeze/inspiration guy, and i think that's good if you are doing 65-75 words a round. but if you are constantly ending your rounds with 1 or 2 uses of inspiration left, because you keep finding words, ditching inspiration for freeze is a great move.

Yeah, I'm currently doing freeze/inspiration.
Inspiration is really hit or miss though, and like you said, you may be still finding words on your own. There have been times when Inspiration has gotten me an extra 100-200+ points by showing me a word, then being able the add prefixes, suffixes, and rhyming words. Maybe I'll try double freeze and see what happens.
Wow looks like an epic match between mulls and chronick. Mulls had the highest variance of any player in the round robin match, therefore also the most upset potential and it almost happened. Very GG mullen.
After I came back in round 3 vs blackize in game 1, he came back in round 3 of game 2 and won by 6 points. Every word counts. I'm waiting on him for round 1 of game 3.
I go freeze/freeze btw and I hate how much variance there is in how long they last. If you find yourself getting stuck a lot then inspiration can be good but I think optimally you'd transition to freeze/freeze.
Freeze/freeze has got to be the best. There's a few select boards where throwing an inspiration in would definitely be better. I stayed with inspiration longer than most and I saw a huge increase in scores when I switched to freeze.
Can't wait for the next tourney. I really feel I play my best when I'm on my 5th or 6th game in a row for some reason. This was discussed earlier in the thread a little but I've had some chronick-esque rounds lately where I drop 135 words and 1100 in the first round or something after a few ordinary games. Probably explains the variance. I think I'm improving at spotting longer words as well.

freeze/inspiration for me... even now I'll hit a roadblock and not get a word for 10-15 seconds and end up with 70 words. Other times I run out of time and get +100 words.
Maybe I should try freeze/freeze... but my biggest word ever has been because of inspiration, ~130pts.
Been playing some rounds with sangaman, and wow.. Crushes me
I had a 2k+final round so told him to tape it because he mentioned he would, wait til he posts that... Amazing scramble skills
Yup, thanks for the heads up. This is the first game I've recorded. Not for the tournament unfortunately but entertaining nevertheless I hope.
Of course as soon as I was done I noticed a bunch of words I missed and it tilted me - end, rend, trend, pend, spend, ward, drape, drapes... I think the pressure got to me a little, definitely could have gotten more and boards this juicy are very rare.

I suddenly don't want to play the tourney anymore lol
The resolution is too low on the video, how many words did you get?
127. My record is probably 130-something but I rarely go for 2 letter words; I only had 3 in the video above. It's probably something I should do more, though, and I'm pretty sure I know all of them from playing Words With Friends.

You should! It's a great way to improve.

Dubness literally just did it vs me, he got 118/232. I've noticed he likes to get the 2 letter words a lot so he frequently gets more words than I do.
Anyone ever see a crazy low amount of word opportunities before? I was playing a game couple weeks and felt like an idiot while playing it and then saw there were only 84 total makable words on the board and I got over half but was astounded at how few there were
Not much of a brag, but I got my first "Unbelievable" word earlier today. Only could recall getting an occasional "genius". Is there anything above those two as far as what I assume is word length?
