Re: Words with Friends (WWF) - Containment /Strat Thread
Anyone able to confirm how exchanges are treated towards the end of the game? I know in regular Scrabble, you can't exchange at all when there are fewer than 7 tiles in the bag; it seems like WWF allows you to exchange no matter how few are left, but you risk getting the same ones back (although the one time I tried this, I was just ****ing around and tried exchanging all 7 tiles when there were only 3 left, which is admittedly silly...if I had only swapped 3, would I be guaranteed to get all new ones?). Makes for an interesting way to play chicken with an unusable Q or something at the end; there's also the 4 consecutive swaps/passes rule to deal with though.

Re: Words with Friends (WWF) - Containment /Strat Thread
i really don't get the confusion about the use of an anagram solver being cheating. first of all, the solver is perfect, your trial and error is prone to, well.. error. it's akin to saying "well i could just try every possible move at my disposal at the moment on paper and see how the board looks, or i could just use this chess program and save time right?"
also swum is the past participle of swim not the past tense. do people even learn english anymore?

Re: Words with Friends (WWF) - Containment /Strat Thread
sadly i would not have been able to tell you the difference without using google. i could list excuses but i won't bother.
i finally played a 100+ point word! i think my highest previous word was 62. i played harvests for a bingo with the H on a triple word, the V on a triple letter, and the final S ended on a double word (i think it might have been played already tho, not 100%).
when i first began playing this game i didn't realize the blanks were helpful so i would always discard them. my friends get a kick out of that one so i thought i'd share.

I really wish WWF would keep lifetime stats, avg score, wins/loses, avg points per word etc.

Yeah, this is incredibly tilting, and you'd think it would be relatively simple to do

i cant believe i havent posted this until now, but some friends and i started playing this format that we've dubbed '3max' for like 6 months now. its a cool way to mix it up on occasion. there are some major strategic differences between the two games (though i guess that would be obvious lol)

Re: Words with Friends (WWF) - Containment /Strat Thread
i play my little cousin and to make it competitive we actually play "worst score wins" which is basically "3max and trying to lose" (you can't skip turns ldo) and it's not fun but "3max" might be. will have to try it out.

What if you literally can't make a move, how would the other person know what your rack is?
Not to mention there are a lot of people I could play that would not be able to make a lot of moves even if ones were available because they don't know the words.
I may be thinking about this too hard.
