I had someone do this the other day 443v180 with 14 left. But she said "this is pointless, lets quit and I'll just rematch"

Yeah, why would you get pissed if someone resigns an unwinnable match? As long as they rematch its all good imo. If they quit you forever that's pretty weak.

I like to try and get to 500 if possible plus they should play to try and get better and I've been down 100+ before and come back so it's not impossible especially since I just left a wide open triple word

I hear you but look at it from their perspective, maybe they want to spare themselves the time of playing out a game they cant win and just want to start another one from 0-0 now.

I've never quit a game before it ended, but I may in the future and wouldn't begrudge someone doing it to me if I had a massive lead. If they quit I would expect an immediate rematch though.

i assume it has a lot to do with the glory of getting a new personal best high score. if i was chasing 600 and somebody quit, i would be furious!

Blocking the double set up on the triple word might be best strat option as there is 1 s left that will hit a triple letter also so if you can block try that otherwise qi is best option

You can also drop the x next to the u on double letter eventually for an easy 17

I like NIX better, because you still leave open the possibility of playing DRIP (or something else that works)/QI on another turn.

Just would need to get another I and a P, but I'm sure there is something else that would work there that I didn't think of right off the bat.

Edit: eh, game over and 3 tiles left. Don't feel like counting, and I'm not even sure what the letter distribution is in WWF, so there might not be a possibility of getting another I and P. I do like the possibility of playing DRIP there though and getting TW both ways.

For a 2nd play I like FIX/OX off of the second I in WITHIN. Think it would be 22.

If you don't think he's good enough to know that Qi is a word then playing on the N is fine. Playing Qi is guaranteed 30+ points though and playing off the N will usually only notch you around 11-20 points (unless you have a letter like X of course). So Qi seems like the right play right now for you.

haha came back to say yeah maybe something like CHI is good.

but i think this is being overanalysed, the opponents score is so low that i doubt he's thinking 'well i guess playing SCRAM is my only chance to win this game', and more 'what is the first word i can find?'

just me or is that an absurdly low scoring game above?

I would try QI/IF/UF to see if it works first. I dunno if its better to play NIX because there are a ton of open vowels on your board so I dont think you need to grab more tiles before the bag is empty.

It is low scoring, but I think that is primarily because whether due to sheer defensive play or poor word knowledge they have missed basically every premium tile on the board.

Opponent just leaves me wide open triple letter and triple word and then I realize I have no vowels I have a ton of high scoring tiles and then I stop and think....

And drop PHT to get the triple word, thanks 2p2 strat thread
