I would assume that 2p2ers are better than the regular population at any strategy based game

Anyone else think this game is vastly inferior to scrabble? Strategy and tile draw are definitely more important, but rack balancing and word knowledge take a major backseat. Plus I hate that you can sit there and try random **** until you get a word.

All of these things help to increase variance which is obviously good for the success of the game.

On the main online scrabble server (at least the one I know of) people will often play VOID, which is just like WWF's system - it won't let you play an illegal word. Paradoxically, I think this helps to increase fairness - this way I think a player is a little less likely to trot out their dictionary, because the penalty for challenging is dire.

TBH, the whole challenging and requisite knowledge of obscure words and game specific 2 letter words is my least favorite part of playing scrabble with people anyway.

I actually enjoy being told right away whether or not the word I'm trying is acceptable and think it makes the game more fun and fair to beginners.

I'm a diehard scrabbler and I think that challenging is the only way to go for high level live games, but for beginners it does make things more fun. And in the WWF format challenges would make the game go pretty slow/people would just look up the word.

In record scoring scrabble games the use of phonies is always a source of contention, because if someone gets burned challenging QAT or PHT early on they are likely to just stop challenging and an opportunist can really rack up the points without actually being particularly good.

I just get frustrated with the locked down boards you get when playing with almost anyone decent

i don't find that to be that true. decent players will bingo more often and are less likely to do the stair step thing. although in WWF bingoing is significantly less valuable than in scrabble.

It's especially fun to put down a word like that in a live game and see the reaction. I still remember the indignant "what the **** is that?" I got from my wife when I opened a game with CWM.

PHT is a word? PHPHT? Please let me play these on someone soon

These are not in the dictionary according to dictionary.com. How are these words?

The Scrabble dictionary is a combination of many different dictionaries and is basically as inclusive as possible - if a word is in one of those dictionaries, it's valid in Scrabble. Other vowelless words include PYX and HYP.

I got screwed that WWF does NOT accept MYC as a valid word when it is clearly in the Scrabble Dictionary.

I definitely bingo more than anyone I play with. Maybe I'm just playing with people who understand strategy but have poor word knowledge or anagramming skills

Minor nit--I wouldn't exactly qualify Y-only words as being vowelless, but those are good ones.

My favorite vowelless word has been BRRR, which has bailed me out of awful racks on a couple of occasions.

I played tribals the other day, which is a word according to scrabble, but apparently not in WWF. Super lame. Also NTH? my idiot friend played that one against me. He's definitely using a word finder, but he leaves triple word scores open like its his job so I'm not very concerned.

I posted earlier looking for a challenge and Deldar has been consistently kicking my ass. But if any of you guys who are above average but not pulling out words like hyoidals, areae, and serails want to play then hit me up. SN is YouSuck!lol

Got asked by two friends this week if I cheat. Not sure if I should be offended or take that as a compliment.

And no I've never once cheated. You don't get crushed because I cheat. You get crushed because you do stupid **** like set me up for all of the triple word tiles.

Guy next to me last night at the movies was playing WWF before it started. I heard him tell his friend that he was with "There's no two letter B words" to which his friend responded, "What about BE?" and he kind of shook him off. Then he played a word in the game he was working on and said, "Five points! Take that!" I was dying inside.

And my new pet peeve is people who resign after you drop big words on them or have big leads... I have 1 that does it constantly and I don't know why I play her... Played CHURNER for 90 points to go up 291 to 92 with 34 letters left and they quit

When I first started playing I got a bunch of 60-ish words and a couple 110+ words. My 3rd game ever I finished at like 562. Now I think I've gone 4 or 5 days with no word over 40. Nothing ever fits and it's getting really frustrating. I'm starting to have flashbacks of SNG grinding.
