WTF? You forcefully tell the bikini chicks that they just broke the law and you will be calling the cops. Unless of course they can come up with a reason why you shouldn't......

What if the store closes and youre forced to leave before you had as many refills as desired for that visit?

Also like he mentioned does anyone have a problem with buying a soda or coffee at 9am and staying til close doing stuff on their phone or computer while refilling?

Fwiw I'm not on his side

lol at these idiotic arguments. Just say, "I don't want to pay for sodas, so I steal it" and everyone would have more respect for you. Your dumbass rationalizations are hilarious though. "Of course I didn't cheat on you! I wore a condom, I never felt her with my actual skin! Show me the written contract we have that says that's cheating!"

Nick,

Your justifications for stealing are really really weird.

The number of excuses/justifications/rationalizations you are devising for theft is comical.

...because when you have access to free soft drinks and iced tea, that's when you know you've got life by the balls.

Some restaurant out there is sitting on a potential gold mine with this marketing campaign:

"Our food may be hot garbage, but you'll forget all about that when you're refilling your cup with tea...as often as you like...FOR FREE!!!"

What in the hell is wrong with you?

I still don't really understand where people are disagreeing with me. I have said that I think this is, colloquially, stealing...in the same way as various examples I have given are "stealing" despite not being against the letter of the policy, such as sitting in the restaurant all day and using the internet or taking a huge pile of napkins home.

And jeez Hollywade, use multiquote.

The cost of a coke is not 7c for the restaurant. It's not even that cheap at McDs where they can buy the syrup in insane bulk to reduce cost. At somewhere like 5G with the freestyle machine I'd imagine it's way higher.

If they made the coke 55 cents they'd have to raise the prices on the burgers and fries which are already pretty expensive.

Solution is to drink water. Not steal soda.

Plus it's still soda

I used to manage a few QSR's when I was younger and if I caught people doing it I would offer them the option of paying for a refill or me calling the cops.
lol.

so then the cops would show up and arrest you for wasting their time?

Nick -- when you walk into Panera, do you proudly display your used Panera cup for the cashier to see, or do you jam it down your pants, hide it in your jacket, or otherwise not let them know that you've got a cup with you? Are there times when you go to Panera just to get free iced tea and not buy any food?

He answered this, he hides the cup in his bag/other stuff and puts that at the table. Then he goes and orders, brings the food back to the table and retrieves the cup to fill up

Yes, except I don't hide the cup as I am walking in. I do set it down at the table before I order. Sometimes I will fill it before I order. Sometimes afters. Sometimes I will fill it with before I leave my house.

I saw someone do this the other day and felt a little rage towards him. Then I realized that I am often overly aggressive with the amount of napkins I take. If I happen to not use them I take them home.
