How many beers before you call a cab standard american light beer nothing hard ( edit < 1hour after consumption)? put weight and height in response

im trying to prevent myself from getting another DUI so if im over the limit i get a cab but i dont want to do that every time i drink if i dont need it. I think i can drink around 4-5 and be at the legal limit .08bal (155lbs 5"10").

I was thinking of buying one of these http://www.amazon.com/s/qid=12834159...rank_authority does anybody have any experience/opinion with one? Anybody do some kind of field sobriety test on them self's or friends?

I got a DUI in CA in 2007. The biggest thing I can stress here is DO NOT drive at all if you've had anything to drink. Even if your BAC is below .08, they can and probably will still book you if you have ANY alcohol in your system. If they somehow find out about your first offense, they will DEFINITELY take you in regardless of BAC if anything shows up.

I know its a bitch, but the second one comes with a lot harsher penalties.

Why is height relevant?

God even thinking about this makes me realize how lucky i have been to avoid arrest on dui.

I think 2-3 beers is the absolute max I would drink and drive. Obv if i have a prior dui I am never drinking and driving period, which is probably the smartest thing anyway.

You know how you prevent a DUI?

Get better at driving drunk. Only fish get pulled over. It's a skill you need to cultivate and develop.

Spoiler:
To be serious, if I'm going out and will be drinking, I make plans to avoid driving all together. Cabs exist, and when I'm drunk I can always talk myself into thinking I can drive, so just avoid the situation

You should include a time frame in this question.

But really just don't drink and drive...consider the cab fare a part of the cost of enjoying yourself.

Yeah.

Sick brag about having a cab company.

I'd say I'm legally drunk after 5 beers.

Time frame is obviously kind of important here. Five beers in a buck fifteen is a lot different than five beers in three and a half hours.

But if it's LIGHT beer, non empty stomach, 20 min per beer pace. . . I'm drawing the safety line at six beers (i.e., I'm driving on five.) If this is real beer and not bud light, I don't want to have more than four.

Anyway, the real answer is use one of those online BAC thingies, and stop at 0.07 for the U.S. This is what I did the last time I went river tubing and knew I'd be driving after and wanted to keep it legal.

Driving drunk is fun.

Try volunteering for the drinking and driving demonstrations put on by the local police department so you can drink and drive legally for free in front of the cops!

Closed course, professional drinker driver, don't try this at home kids etc.

pretty sure i would be under the limit at 7 coors over a reasonable time span, say1.5- 2 hrs. obv would be fine skillwise to drive.

The key is to just not drive to places where you are going to be drinking in the first place. not having to monitor your drinking makes for a much more fun time and doesn't leave the option of making a bad decision by driving home.

In my state, light beer is only 3% ABV. It's pretty hard to get very drunk on that stuff.
