I always hear they kill more people than all other animals combined in africa. Not sure if thats true but iirc they chomp canoes in half and bite pretty much anything that comes close.

probably really close. wolf probably has thicker bones, stronger bite, more body weight, etc than a pit bull, but might have worse agility and overall fighting skills, and i don't know how much more built its body is than a pit bull's.

grizzly bear is probably really close vs a lion/tiger also. can't imagine it is a favorite, but probably wins 40%.

hippo's kill more human's than any other animal in africa because they are so aggressive. and for being so big they hide in water really well.

You guys are insane if you think a pitbull is even close to capable of handling a wolf. The wolf is smarter, more agile and has a much stronger bite -- it would be able to crush any bone in the pitbulls body in one bite. Even a pitbull trained to fight is a dog (pardon the pun) to a wild wolf.

There are some breeds out there that probably have a chance, but the pitbull is too slow, stupid and weak.

I've seen a Wolf kill a german shepard like it was a poodle. Also, It is not uncommon for a lone wolf to attack a bison.

It may be cool to have a dog trained just for fighting, but wolves have evolved to survive. It might just decide to let a muscular pit bull play it self out and get tired if it thought that was the best route was to tire it before it killed it.

i remember reading somewhere that the timber wolf has loads more bite pressure than any domestic dog that has been diluted by years of human-led breeding efforts and no longer has to rely on his jaws to survive, even the ones bred to fight like pit bulls. wolves have to crunch through bone etc. as a matter of every day course.

wolves have a longer reach, are bigger, stronger, weigh more, heavier bite, literally wild etc. if the pit got a clamp on his throat then it's probably game over but i'd take the wolf anyday.

i saw a vid of a nile croc having a scuffle with a panther of some sort once. croc was all teeth and noises, massive display of aggression. cat just padded gracefully around it's nose just out of reach of a lunge and came around the back, walked up and sat on its head. shut its jaws down and sat on it til it suffocated then hopped off and got on with its day like nothing had happened. pretty incredible.
