Take away one zero and you're in the ballpark.

I was hoping that Timber Wolf was a new cheesy club rap / electric music star and we could debate who had more booty shaking beatz.

Now I am sad.

Sad is the day that white supremists recommend pit bulls over german shepherds.

You realize these two sources have conflicting information? The first has a German Shepherd at ~750psi (wtf?!?) and the 2nd has a German Shepherd at 238psi. Here is the video showing the psi of a wolf bite at just over 400. This happens to be the same source as your 2nd link uses.

http://youtu.be/NwB2Lzkacps

BTW, I've seen a link saying a wolf's psi is 1,500 and a human's is 300. It is possible they are using a different technique for measuring (ie if you measure a smaller biting surface the numbers could be inflated relative to using a larger biting surface).

In an apples to apples comparison it is safe to say that a wolf's bite is stronger than a pit bull's and even a Rottweiler's but probably slightly weaker than that of the dogs with the strongest bites (ie Caucasian Shepherd, Boerboel, Tosa Inu, Kangal, etc).

Pounds != pounds per square inch. One unit is force, the other is pressure. If you really want to get into the nitty gritty of animal bite forces and view the results of research conducted by people with legitimate experience working with carnivorous animals and not herpetologists armed with sticks like Brady Barr do a search for Stephan Wroe's studies.

I LOLed. I'm still LOLing. well played.

EDIT: plenty more LOLs all through the thread, thx.

(semi)serious response to OP: Who wins a match between Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James? It depends on the game being played. It seems like the octagon deathmatch definitely helps the pitbull as that is what they have been bred for. Presumably the best fighting pitbulls have a fighting spirit on par with a wolverine.

Clearly if you chose submission as an escape mechanism (standard for conflicts within a wolf pack) when the game is a fight to the death you have lost.

"...ps. I think your ridgeback was fat, or possibly mixed, or your scale was simply broken..."

he looked like this. Wasn't fat and had more balls than brains. Scary fast and would go into combat mode in about 1/10th of a second.

Sorry, this is just a picture of a Pitbull with a caption written on the image.
Link to a news article.

I could find a picture of a newborn baby and write something stupid like it strangled to death a grizzly bear, and it means jack****.

Show me a video of a Pit Bull killing an adult Mountain Lion or link to a credible news story claiming a Pit Bull killed one.

FWIW, that dog was actually a Dogo Argentino (Argentinian Mastiff). In some parts of the world Dogos are referred to as pit bulls, but IMO you have to be clueless to lump them together. Dogos look like oversized pit bulls, but aside from that are very genetically dissimilar to the other "pit bull" breeds.
