Pit Bull versus Timber Wolf - Other Topics Forum - Discuss Pop Culture, Arts and Entertainment

Both animals vary in size quite a bit, so using approximate averages per wikipedia, we'll say we have a:

Male American Pit Bull Terrier, 21 inches at the shoulder, 50 pounds

and a

Male North American Gray Wolf, 30 inches at the shoulder, 85 pounds

We put 'em in an octagon.

What happens?

Dead pit, imo.

I have a feeling the timber wolf would not stand a chance vs a well trained pit bull.

so it depends: has the PB been trained? also, how old is the wolf. is he in his prime?

I am thinking of buying an octagon and setting it up somewhere in africa or SE asia, so that we can finally have answers to these questions.

Just assume all things are equal, they're both 3 years old. The pit can be game and trained and whatever else.

I just think the wolf's size advantage is too much to overcome here. I have a German Shepherd that is 90 pounds, about the same size and build as our wolf, and she could pull my freaking car out of a ditch, freakishly strong. If we had an 85 pound pit against an 85 pound wolf I think the pit wins, but giving up 35 lbs is too much to overcome, imo.

Let me know where that octagon gets set up, I'm there. Grizzly bear v bengal tiger could be the headliner.

pitbulls have been bred to be the perfect cage fighters

wolves have evolved to move silently in the forest and take down weak/disabled prey with the help of its pack.

I am pretty sure two humans w/ aluminum baseball bats could take on a grizzly. but i doubt a human could survive 1v1

I think everyone ITT is massively underestimating the speed and animal instincts. There is no way the pitt bull or the timber wolf loses.
