Another one of those where you could put a gun to my head and ask, "are those the same color or different?" and I would be a dead man.

My best advice for seeing it:

Click on this small image and use the larger one.
Don't look at it, look through it.
Don't look at one part, look at all of it.
Blur your eyes a little and the 3D image becomes crystal clear.

Once you're locked in, you can move your head left and right slightly and the dog moves in this 3d 'world'

Even though I've done this a hundred times, sometimes it still takes a few seconds to get into the 3D world, but you'll know once you're there.

Good luck!

Edit: They're called sterograms.
i honestly dont see a single thing here. Ive looked for ages.

Same with me. Even since I was a little kid, I've never been able to do these magic eye things and I'm getting tilted again trying to see it now.

This one is very old but very cool if you've never seen it before.

I can't see the 3d image. I can see the lines for it sort of, but I can't get the 3d world.

I usually can do these fine IRL, but for whatever reason I've never been able to on computer monitors.

By IRL I mean like when they're hanging on walls.

This is a dumb "illusion" if you can even call it that. Everything you see in an image or in real life is a 2D image hitting our eye, our mind fills in the depth even IRL based on angles and parallax from 2 eyes. Stupid argument about this one.
If this isnt a stupid response (which it is) then the illusion in the OP isnt a real illusion either, since in the real world we fill in shading and coloration based on shadows and adjacent brightness, so even if you show that the two squares are the same color in some artificial 2D world, they arent REALLY the same color at all, they are whatever our eyes say they are.

But instead it actually is a PROTOTYPICAL illusion and a really neat one and you dont know what an illusion is.

My argument may not have been well constructed, but the fact is that the two boxes in #11 aren't the same shape and size, in any 2D or 3D world. The OP illusion was terrific, as were many others. The two boxes was a poor one. If you put them in a 3D modeling program, overlay wireframes on the edges, and then rotate to orient them at the same angles, you'll see the sizes are way off.
