I hear you... Obviously, the actual pie doesn't look anywhere that perfect. However, what I was really impressed with was the ratio of actual berries that are in the filling. With lots of cheap pies, the filling is mostly jelly versus real fruit. That is not the case when I had this particular pie. It was filled with real berries.

BTW, I don't have the same high rating for the Apple pie version. But it's still decent value for the price.

I enjoyed some excellent savory pies in London last month. I need to add them to my arsenal. I'm thinking next time I roast a chicken leftovers are going into a pie.

In the same vein, what is the best best oot or edf or lounge dessert thread? i'd like to practice a tequila chocolate sauce i got at this place. All the ingredients seems pretty attainable.

Thursday July 20
Pie judging and pie eating festival!!!!

Pie judging: post and describe a pie you made prior to Thursday July 20 and on July 20 an expert panel of judges will crown a champion pie.

Pie eating: And if you want a championship of your own, on Thursday July 20 we're going to be doing some pie eating.

Post what type of pie you intend to eat and a different expert panel (prob me) will determine its PEq (Pie Equivalent) score for contest purposes. And then we shall eat.

I'm thinking of eating like a dozen McDonald's pies.
