Lot of pie-related emotional highs and lows right now.

High: I've got pie crusts, and sour cherries that are cleaned, pitted, and cut in half.

Low: I didn't account for the crust chilling time, so won't be able to bake tonight.

Low & High: And I won't be able to eat pie tomorrow because I've got an all-you-can-eat gourmet BBQ event tomorrow night.

High: But, that means I can cook tomorrow and have the recommended 1 day old pie!

Variance Inducing: Wife working from home tomorrow means risk she snacks on all my prepped cherries.

Insurance: I've also got ~5 cups of blueberries in the house.

I've just inserted a large frozen strawberry pie into the oven. Elected to do the optional egg wash on the crust. I don't know if I did a very good job, because I didn't have a brush and had to spread with a fork, and the texture seemed particularly eggy. Like I might expect to see fried bits of egg on the surface.


At least I know the interior strawberry was done correctly!

I know it's too late, but you could fold up a paper towel or even use your fingers (which is pretty nice out of context)
