Here are two you probably havent heard of..

Unleash the Archers -

The Agonist -

That unleash the archers song would be a ton better if they upped the tempo slightly, just feels way to pedestrian. The Agonist track was cool... Needs less clean vocals tho...

Best Pig Destroyer song ever:

And here's an obscure song from an obscure band. I heard it about 8-10 years ago. Never heard anything from them before since, but I absolutely love this song.

Does anyone know what's going on with the new album? Last year they told it should be out this fall.

"When we’ll be exposed to said pages—and Hull’s ensuing riff hurricane—is anyone’s guess. The Economy, Stupid at least partially explains the delay in following up 2007 dB Album of the Year Phantom Limb. Both Hayes and Harvey work in real estate/development-related fields, and the recession has forced them to prioritize extra work ahead of pig destroying. Hence, as of press time, PxDx are still in the “developing” stage."

From here

So looks like it will go the way of their normal release process,
-Date announced
-Date comes and goes
-record gets released when it's done
-Turns out to be one of the best albums ever
-PxDx announces 3 show tour to support the new record
-On of the shows is in Philly
-???????
-Proffit

Don't listen to a lot of metal anymore, but used to go to lots of shows when I was really young. Early Candiria is the nuts, Vision of Disorder's self titled album is a classic....been listening to lots of meshuggah lately. Listening to pig destroyer and BDM because of this thread and enjoying most of it. THANKS!

Anyone listen to any good Electro Metal bands (may have invented that genre idk)? Really been into the metal + synthesizer sound lately. Here are two examples of what I'm talking about:

100DEADRABBITS - Sea Of Dreams
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQFzZsXOL3g

We Butter The Bread With Butter - Breekachu

The closest I can think of are Deathstars and Kovenant.

Kovenant - New World Order

Deathstars - Synthetic Generation

Didn't see The Faceless posted in here, which is a damn shame:

Pestilence

The Ancient Covenant

Legion of the Serpent

And only one mention of Necrophagist?

Stabwound

To Breathe in a Casket

Foul Body Autopsy

I'm really liking Odious Mortem these days:

Dysmorphic Avulsion

Has anyone seen "Until The Light Takes Us"?

I won't give any sort of a review so as not to spoil anything, but it's about the early stages of the Black Metal scene in Norway. I've never been even remotely a fan of that style of music, but the story behind the murders of 2 members was always interesting to me. The book "Lords Of Chaos" was pretty crazy too.

Another good short documentry is True Norwegian Black Metal with a lot of interview time with Gaahl of Gorgoroth. Wow, this is one of the creepiest humans I have ever seen.

If you want it to be almost exactly like what you posted, iwrestledabearonce if you haven't listened to them. This kind of stuff isn't my cup of tea however.

If you just want trance-influenced synths mixed with any form of metal, check out the album Conspiritus by Ewigkeit. It's not extreme metal proper (clean vocals etc), but it's really badass. Here's a sample: It's Not Reality

If you're okay with the synth beats being a bit more subdued but present at points in the song, various melodic death metal bands can fit the bill. Check out
Mors Principium Est - Pure
Dark Tranquillity - Terminus (Where Death Is Most Alive)
Mercenary - Black and Hollow

Not the biggest fan of electro metal stuff but I do listen to Genghis Tron so I guess you could throw them in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMJWgInNEfQ

Yeah agreed it was probably btbam he was thinking about, and if it was a couple of years ago it was probably something referring to the album colors (album cover is my avatar ) since that came out in 2007 and was talked about for its constant genre changes in the songs and generally weird things going on from time to time. I think their best incorporation of other genres though is from the new record, the last 4 mins or so of Disease Injury Madness always make me happy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwm0mIaqVRU

I guess I could rant about btbam all day.
