Re: OOT Life Tricks
I don't know if this is still true, but when I was in HS we figured out that if you mail the USPS and ask for shipping tape, they will send it to you for free (we may have had to pay for s+h, not sure). We asked for 12 rolls, which is a GIANT amount of tape. So giant that AFAIK we never finished one. They sent us 12, for free. We spent about half of one taping people into balls after school. Best free item i ever got in the mail.

Don't see tape anymore, but you can get a bunch of free boxes here:

In cases where the person has a common first name spelled only one way and is suspicious just say "no, I mean your last name"

Doesn't work so well if there name is something like Bill, Bob or Tom...

Try it. You're welcome.

Can someone really drunk, with the spins, at the end of a night, post a trip report on whether this will prevent spewing too? I feel there's at least a reasonable chance, low as it may be, that this might work at least until you can pass out.

Keep a spare car key in your wallet in case you lock your regular keys in your car.

My first thought was I use a money clamp.
2nd thought, we used to keep one in the air filter. But you can't open a hood any longer without being in the car.
3rd thought, we used to use the magnetic boxes but they would dislodge because we did not drive gently.
4th thought, magnetic boxes do not adhere to plastic bumpers anyway.
5th thought, we used to wire a key to the inside of the bumper. Bumper access is no longer easy.
6th thought, I miss the days when 5 minutes with a coat hanger would get you back on the road.

I think it's impossible to lock my keys in my car.

Re: OOT Life Tricks
True. I think it's impossible to lock my keys in the car, but women will probably lock their keys in the trunk.

Re: OOT Life Tricks
With the auto-door lockers being pretty much standard nowadays, it probably is a lot harder to do since most people don't use anything other than the clicker thing on their keys to lock it in the first place.
(FWIW, when I'm in my wife's car which doesn't have the clicker, I always end up leaving it unlocked because I'm not used to hitting the button that's on the door.)

Re: OOT Life Tricks
A hotel in Indianapolis managed to lock my keys in my car last year. I checked in, went out to dinner, went to a bar, and when I got back my car was in the same place I pulled in with about 5 bell hops trying to break in. I was pretty drunk at the time so I thought it was pretty funny. They finally broke in and the next morning I filled out a report and their insurance paid the $1600 to fix everything the bell hops ****ed up.

Re: OOT Life Tricks
I like to lose keys...so instead I just leave them in the car, this has made my life so much easier:

Re: OOT Life Tricks
The gag reflex thing will work for some people -- it's not a trick to get you to stick **** down your throat. It has nothing to do with thumb and throat being on the "same nerve" -- it's just sensory impulse overriding a reflex by taking precedence in your brain (the nerve mentioned earlier ITT does have a little to do with pain perception).
If you can't get it to work your reflexes may be wired 'harder', or you're not causing yourself enough pain to override the reflex.
Try this: Next time you feel a sneeze coming on, push firmly on your upper lip / mustache area with your index finger. For some people, this will override the sneeze reflex.
