The burning likely comes from the oxidation of alcohol to acetaldehyde and acetic acid in the presence of digestive catalysts in the mouth

If it were true that vodka tasted worse when exposed to air, as soon as you opened the bottle it would start getting worse tasting.

That way your senses passively still passively pick up the scent, which is why as some have suggested, holding your nose doesn't work quite so well. If you actually breathe out while it's in your mouth just before you swallow it, you'll taste almost nothing.

I don't get it, maybe if you plug your nose and pour a shot straight down your throat you wont taste anything, but if it touches your taste buds, you are going to taste it.

Re: OOT Life Tricks
1) When making Toaster Strudels, put the icing bag on the side of the toaster for 10-15 seconds, then flip it (You must watch it though, as it can melt). This will make it easy to put it on the strudel.
2) If you go to the bathroom in a McDonalds, bring in napkins, as they have no paper towels. You can use them to wipe your hands, and use them to open the (disgusting) door.

I keep testing this at 10:30am. I notice no difference. Actually I just realized I do this anyways without thinking.

Re: OOT Life Tricks
may be a repost but after having the problem myself i thought i would post a prevention.
I recently bought a cheap mp3 player for work [didn't want to ruin iPod], thought id go to itunes and copy some songs onto it. Turns out when you burn a cd onto iTunes they turn into a MPEG 4 file which i think is a DRM kind of thing so that it only works on certain products - namely iPods
A nice fix is to go to
Edit > Preferences > Import settings > MP3 encoder
this should burn all your songs as mp3's which shouldn't affect them afaik and leaves it that you can copy them onto your ordinary mp3 player.
As for all the songs i had previously put on, i had to make duplicates in MP3 form which is time consuming and annoying, much easier to have them start as mp3's

I assume the people doing this aren't going to divvy it up in portions of 1/100 and 99/100 and just flip for it. The idea is that you are trying to split it as close to 50/50 as possible, then you flip for it, so the chooser doesn't automatically get the bigger portion. You can also just as easily both divvy it up, ie. if you don't agree that the portions are equal, you can adjust it first before the flip. This process is most useful for divvying up drugs or something.

Split it up as evenly as you can. Put them behind your back, one in each hand.
Tell your friend to chose left or right. Equal chance to get the slightly bigger or smaller one.
5star thread imo that I just found!

-Never get a flu shot. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.
-Whenever you are using any canned tomato product, ONLY use Hunts. So far superior to anything else. (I usually add a sprinkle of sugar as well) nom nom
