Pretty sure an A&W root beer float is the only way to go.

When I drank soda, all I'd drink was Barqs :/ I thought it was a little better than the others besides the expensive ones in glass bottles.

We had Vernor's Ginger Ale in the Cincinnati area when I was growing up. Not sure how wide a region that one is distributed.

When I was in Quebec they had something kind of similar called Spruce Ale. It was weird and at first the taste made me go "WTF?" but it grew on me after a few sips.

Another somewhat interesting drink is Inca Cola from Peru which isn't a cola at all. Tastes kind of like a cross between Cream Soda and Ginger Ale I think.

I always liked Dad's. My parents still pick up various Dad's sodas sometimes (it's been a few years since I've seen it, so for all I know, it's not even made anymore).

Sprecher, as I posted earlier, is still the best, though.

Had Sioux City for the first time today, as a matter of fact, and it was REALLY good.

Mug is absolutely the worst dregs ever.

I always thought Dad's Old Fashioned was the ugliest looking can ever. Was still pretty good though.

Anyone ever get a "sour" batch of IBC? I'd been buying the glass-bottled six packs at Wal-Mart, and they were great, but then I got a "sour" batch that tasted like IBC mixed with cream soda (or something weird like that). I thought it was just a bad batch or something, but I bought 4-5 more cases spread out over the course of three months, and they all had the same "sour" taste, so I just kinda gave up on root beer for awhile.

I think the bigger question is whether you say root as in shoot or root as in put.

+1 for root (shoot) beer

Mug is nasty. Dad's and Barq's are good. I dunno if I've ever had A&W, since whenever A&W products were available I'd go for the Cream Soda.

The best I ever had was a bottle of homemade bought from a farm stand in PA.

IBC probably because that's what I grew up with.

Fitz's Root Beer is made locally here an everyone loves it. I think it tastes like ****.

I didn't like root beer until I tried the root beer on draft at an actual A&W location.

I voted A&W because I grew up near one of the last A&W drive in's, excellent Root Beer and fried clams at the "buddy's girlfriend works there" price.
They closed. I moved on to cream soda.

Hyde let me know if you can make that happen and what the price will be. I'd appreciate it.
