I'm a Rays fan, even though we have a whole new team, a dump of a stadium and no one goes to there games.

I predict the Starting ERA to be within +/- .50 of what it was last year.
I predict the number of runs scored to be +/- 5% of what it was last year
I predict the bullpen ERA to go up by 1.5 of last year.

I think Manny and Johnny will be not a complete bust and be okay. There's a lot of new players hopefully the numbers will go in our favor and 1 or 2 of them turn out to be awesome.
-Finish 5 games back of NY for the wild card.

I haven't followed MLB for many years but wasn't the end of last year and this off season for the Yankees one of the worst in there franchise history? They had a few problems last year and didn't fix them, didn't sign anyone big, didn't sign anyone they want. They went for Cliff Lee and didnt get him. They let Card Crawford slip through there fingers because they were to concentrated on CL because hes more of a "hot" player. There pitching was horrid and instead of adding anything good they lose Petite.

Playoffs
WSox vs NY > WSox
Texas vs RSox > RSox

Philly beats Red Sox

2 - Heard something, but can't believe it's true. Did that crazy SOB actually pull the bottle out of his car and take a swig while he was pulled over?
3 - Wainright out for season is much bigger and more immediate problem. However, if he's on DL to end 2011, the Cards don't have to pick up his option, which magically could create more $$$ for Pujols. Strange how that could work out.
2 - Yeah I have heard that several places, though the timing is in question. Apparently drank from a bottle after getting pulled over on suspicion of dui. That is going scorched earth if I've ever heard it.

3 - Wainright had Tommy John surgery, he is toast until at least next season, if not part of that as well. Considering the money Pujols is looking for, though, I doubt the Cardinals will keep him around anyway.

The most tantalizing idea I have heard thrown around is a Rangers trade for Pujols. Rangers have a glaring weakness at first base, lots of young talent in the minors to trade, new ownership flush with cash, and some expectations of being competitive this season after last year. Personally, I think it makes a lot of sense, and would MUCH rather the Rangers throw a mountain of cash at Pujols instead of Hamilton. I think Hamilton is going to break down very early (smoking crack catching up to him) and giving him a long term deal will be a horrendous mistake.

I make it down to Baltimore for a Sox game from time to time. I'll let you know if I'll be around.

Anyone heading to Fenway for Opening Day. I haven't found tickets yet.

All - I've booked a weekend in April in D.C. to see some sights and a couple of Natty games. Bar recommendations nearby the park?

Madk,

"Die hard Yankee fans(me) and yankee haters alike are waiting for opening day"

Kind of surprised a die hard Yankee fan has this opinion! Which of the following is the reason you are most looking forward to opening day:

1. WOAT offseason is finally over
2. Happy to be at least tied for first in the AL East
3. You have an opening day Bartolo Colon Weight prop bet, and you have the over

I would not be surprised if Manny is a stud for at least some portion of the season. Despite his calm exterior I bet he is pissed about how he was valued this offseason.

I have access to some sweet seats. Would prefer to wait until I'm eating food again tho.
