No physical contact other than a goodbye hug

mini putt, local festivals, fireworks, walk along boardwalk, grab gelato or froyo, arcade game type place... basically an activity that is "fun", gives you freedom to move around, relax, get to know each other further and isn't physically intense where she would break sweat.

If you choose an activity where she's going to break a sweat, you're hurting yourself big time. She'll also want to end date ASAP after activity is over as she won't feel pretty once she starts sweating and will want to change clothes, reapply makeup etc..

I think freedom to move around is key for second date as it provides ample opportunities to ratchet up the physical contact and start really vibing, which is usually a challenge on first dates. The big problem with many first dates is you're pretty much stuck staring at each other with a barrier between you (table).

DDIP, no response. I suppose she wasn't sincere when she expressed interest in a second date. No biggie, I'll have successful dates in the future and now I have options other than the cliché and mundane dinner and drinks

It's completely standard to say "had a good time, see you soon" at the end of a date even if you don't really mean it. And the girl might not want a second date for a myriad of reasons many of which might have nothing to do with you.

For early dates, I would drop the "dinner" from dinner and drinks. Just go out for drinks, and if you feel like continuing, then grab ice cream, head to a different bar, or go for a walk in a park or whatever. I save dinner and movies for girls I've already been intimate with.

Interesting first date coming up:

So I matched with this girl of N. African descent with a really, really unfortunate first name. She might as well be named Hitler b/c the reactions would be similar. If you're familiar with female Muslim names, then you might have an idea what it is. Me, I don't give a ****, it doesn't bother me, but I could see it being a problem down the road if we eventually started seeing each other and introducing her to friends and family. But she's super attractive (probably doesn't get as much attention from guys due to her name), seems cool from our brief back and forth, and doesn't seem to be a practicing Muslim (not that I have anything against that particular religion, I just probably wouldn't date a person practicing any religion).

Just curious how others would react in this situation. As stated before, I don't care, it's just a name, it doesn't define her, and wouldn't prevent me from continuing to see her, but imagining me introducing her to my conservative Midwest family could be the script for a comedy.

The last few dates where I knew there was no chemistry on both sides, maybe it was rude, but I legit just said "it was nice meeting you, I didn't feel a connection but best of luck out there"

Don't sweat it right now,you haven't had one date.

Maybe she has thought about it and has a nickname or different version of her name.

Or she dgaf .

Then it's on you to accept it.

And seriously, if Hitler had been a hot girl and had a sweet ***, guys would still overlook the genocide thing.

I'm having trouble coming up with a name that's as bad as you're making it sound.

Either way, who cares? Is your family filled with super religious nutjobs? Otherwise I can't see the issue.

I used to think Hussein was a pretty bad name, until we had a president who had that as his middle name.

Yea I personally don't care and wouldn't think about it. I have a childhood friend with that last name

In the off chance she enjoyed the date and is hoping for another, I could see the quick letdown being way preferable. It's the standup thing to do, but I guess you never know how some people might react to rejection.

PMed you the name, you can give your opinion from 1 to Hitler how bad it is iyo.

Like I said, doesn't matter much to me, and while my family isn't quite nutjob territory, my mom and a few others are close. I know she would freak out and be convinced that she probably has terrorist ties or something stupid like that.

Putting on my crazy american christian psycho hat, I rate the name an 8 on the 1 to Hitler scale. With my own normal person hat on, it's pretty amusing, imo.

It is probably Isis

Don't think it would affect her dating life whatsoever though, if she's hot guys will be queuing for her like any other girl

Reminds me of the name of a road 5 mins away from where I live.

The dog on Downton Abbey was Isis

Nutella had a promo for kids to get their names printed on labels of the company's products. They refused to do it with the name Isis at least twice.

If I met someone named Isis, I'm pretty sure I would think about the Egyptian Goddess / DC Comics character, and not even make the connection to the terrorist group until the next time I heard it mentioned.

All,

Isis would be a 6.5 on my 1 to Hitler scale.

Lol at anyone being affected by someone's name. Although I would probably be turned off if someone had changed their name for purely commercial gain.
