I used the podcasts on 2+2 as a way of introducing myself to video production for professional stuff. Now, we've ordered the starter equipment necessary and I made a 1 min video last week (making the video using Premier Pro took 4-6 hours).

Tomorrow I'm going to make another video, after I spend some more time today watching videos and getting inspiration around techniques, etc.

I would go into it with as concrete of a goal as possible, and also a "SMART" goal.

If you want to improve your verbal/visual communication and speaking/interviewing skills, it is a great idea, will require some hard work and dedication, but it should be easily achievable for you.

If you want it to become popular beyond 20-100 people watching each one, you are going to have to put a ****load of hard work and dedication into it, and even then you have to get lucky.

As long as you have coherent ideas about what you want to get out of it, then it is a great idea.

You don't have to have some grand unifying reason as to why you want to do it, you can say "**** it" the one we did in OOT with the tbab thread was funny and fun and I want to do more of them, and that's totally cool as well.

But I feel like if you use a good goal as motivation then the chances you follow through will be higher.
