If Michael is dead (which I'm pretty sure he is), then why did Hurley tell Walt that he was "lying to protect the people who are still there -- like your dad." ???

nice catch. either he knows something we don't or he didn't want to break the kid's heart i guess. heavily weighted towards the first option.

I suppose it does make some sense but it's almost worse I think if Michael is alive and decided to stay on the island than with his own son. Not quite as bad as him being dead altogether, but I don't think Walt is happy if Michael stayed behind either.

I'm pretty sure Walt asked Hurley, "Like my Dad?" and Hurley confirmed, as opposed to Hurley volunteering the information.

Locke tells Jack that the island is a place where miracles happen. Jack doesn't believe him.

After the chopper crash, on the raft, they talk about how it's a miracle that Aaron is unharmed. Jack then decides Locke is right and that they have to lie to protect the island.

I have enjoyed the whole desmond/penny story line but the reunite was rather anti-climatic for me.

Also, I have one question about last weeks episode:

When Ben told Locke to go down into the orchid did he tell him what to do? Did Ben try to make Locke move the island? If Ben knew he was going to be rescued by his own people (after he surrendered to Keamy)then he didnt have to get Locke into the orchid before he got back and if he didnt think he'd get rescued then he'd have to have Locke do the moving part.

There is a ton of confirmation bias with Locke in the coffin. By the beginning of this season it was narrowed down to 3-4 realistic options, by this episode there were only three real guesses Ben, Locke, unknown character. Guessing Locke isn't that brilliant.

Was I the only one that half-expected Jack or Ben to be in the coffin?

lol my friend who I spoke to directly after the episode ended was thoroughly convinced that it was a different actor. He said something like "Wow, they really found a great replacement Walt. They look so much alike."

After laughing insanely hard I obv tried getting the necessary prop bet going but alas I couldn't get the free money shipped my way. Just imagine that, being ****ing paid to watch LOST episodes, is there anything that could possibly be better than that?
