Ive never seen that show. Yea I finished, cleaning was the easy part. Dealing with her is a task. I was thinking about putting in new shower tiles in her bathroom because the earthquake knocked a few loose, but I don't think I can put up with her and the Home Depot trips.

The best part of Hoarders is when they pile all their trash outside to do the old "keep or throw" and the hoarders just nopenopenope the **** out of them every time.

Just saw this and it reminded me of Villian, who I hope is home now.

Cant you craiglist a guy for not too much ? Obv depends on how bad it is now.

The show is ridic in some cases. There was one where an old lady had basically been ****ting in plastic bags and dumping them in a different room for 10 years because the hallway to her bathroom was filled with stuff she hoarded. Sometimes it will be combined with a cat problem and they end up finding up to dozens of cat skulls and carcasses. I hope your mom is ok, hoarding is no joke.

It really illustrates how sick some of these people are. Like, whenever they somehow hoard more **** during the actual clean up days and random piles of new stuff suddenly appear in the house.

Its not about that. She aint letting nobody in her house/room/bathroom. I also watch This Old House so I actually want to do it.

Honestly the best solution on most episodes of Hoarders I've seen has been a can of gas, some matches, and a gun and a couple bullets.

Since 14 hours is less than a day, I'm going to go with less than a day.

By definition everyone on a flight is inconveniencing everyone else. 100+ people squeezed into a metal tube with no means of egress means lots of compromises for everyone.

But pongo's cavalier "of course the volume is ok, it's either that or a tantrum" irritated me. There are other options. Did children not fly before IPads? How about try parenting (see Howard's post, it's like some don't even think to try).

for once i agree with didace

except i'm the guy who can sleep on a plane (almost) no matter what so it's unlikely to bother me
01-05-2015 , 01:04 PM
See Howard's post about his kid screaming throughout a flight and vomiting?
01-05-2015 , 01:06 PM
Didace, when I was 10 my parents decided to drive to Florida to visit grandma instead of flying that year. We drove about 22 hours. It took 3 days.
01-05-2015 , 01:09 PM
Noise cancelling headphones and a book = have never cared what a child does on a flight.

Exactly. Which is why saying that parents shouldn't take their kids on a plane is extra ridiculous.

One that I would slap down in a cold second.

You ****ers can suffer a few hours. Get some Bose headphones. I'm not about to put myself through a 28-hour drive to spare some randos annoyance.

Where did I say that?
01-05-2015 , 01:30 PM
child haters, do you also demand silence on a train? bus?

Hint: No 3 year old can be trusted to not bother the other passengers. Even well behaved kids will have tantrums and melt downs.
01-05-2015 , 01:33 PM
I've once been on a train where someone was watching loud movies on his phone and that was pretty annoying iyam

Well, we were traveling to France, so no it wasn't. Kids are people, too, and have as much right to travel as adults do. In any case, a super low volume iPad will be drowned out by airplane white noise so the only people that have to hear it are the people sitting immediately beside him. Who happened to be his parents.
01-05-2015 , 01:35 PM
Kid playing on an iPad at low volume is a slight annoyance and it would be great if they could sit quietly for 3-4 straight hours, but if I could lock in iPad kid as the standard for kid behavior on a plane I'd take it. Like someone else said, throw on your own headphones and its all good.

On a different note, saw Book of Mormon last night. Really well done, highly enjoyed and would recommend to anyone who doesn't get offended too easily.

I've had lunch (in an almost empty pub) where someone did this. Rage.
01-05-2015 , 01:37 PM
Crying/jabbering infants and toddlers are inherently much more grating than most forms of noise. Would much rather hear an iPad set to low volume for 5 hours than a crying baby for 1 or 2. Children under 5 should still be banned from most public places though.
01-05-2015 , 01:38 PM
I have also been the parent to the screaming for the entirety of the flight toddler despite my best efforts. A kid happily and calmly watching a barely audible iPad is probably one of your better options.
