Like kerowo said, this is the definition of meets expectations. Their biggest problem this time around vs 3G to 4g is that people has such high expectations going into it and things are less secret now then they were in the past.
Pretty much this exactly. All my coworkers were like "wow so disappointed!" but I have no idea what else people were expecting...

The only thing that surprised me is the lack of camera improvement.

I'm going to wait until Windows Phone 8 comes out and then decide. I really like Windows phones and I'm getting kind of tired of my iPhone.

It's incredible how they finally got the projector in there, and you can't even see it.

Day 1 4s purchaser here on AT&T. Earliest I'm eligible for a full discounted price i5 would be in May (18 months into a 2 year contract).

Otherwise they want to charge an additional $250 on top of the normal discounted 2 year contract price to upgrade to the 5 at this time with a new 2 year contract. So I'd be looking at selling my current 32GB 4s for somewhere around 250-300, then paying 300 for the new phone + 250 for the early upgrade fee. Meh.

I'll see where things stand in May, but nothing knocked my socks off as a "must have" this time. Will probably wait for the next phone after this one.

Yea, they are kind of in a two year cycle with major upgrades every other year followed by a minor upgrade. The carriers are paying too much to subsidize the phones to let people upgrade every year.

What happened to making phone smallers? I'm already hate how the iphone fits in my pocket. It's too big. Remember when small phones used to be hip? The razor was the perfect size.

That was before phones became computers. I miss my old flip phone that was more comfortable to talk on, had a clearer mic and speaker, and I wasn't afraid to drop it, which I often did.

So the USB port is different? Old iPhone chargers won't work with this thing?

the iphone (both the 4(s) and the 5) is thinner than the razr, and just barely wider. the 5 is a little bit longer. but damn dude, it's pretty small. if it got much smaller, it'd be almost too dainty. most people i talk to would rather have a thicker phone with more battery life.

that's correct. apple generously offers a $30 adapter, though!

^ Correct. I'm sure there will be adapters available but they won't work for a lot of docking stations, etc.

I'm sure monoprice.com will have adapters out the ass for five bucks within a week.

I still use my 3G from 2008 which works just fine but will get this one. Well, my wife will get it for me when I redeem my b'day new iPhone voucher from earlier this year.

Not in much of a hurry, though, so I'll wait 'til the dust settles around the stores and the campers are gone.

All in all, I guess it'll be a wee bit of an upgrade...

Verizon, AT&T and Sprint will have it in stock on the 21st. That is usually the best bet as far as smaller lines are concerned rather than going to the Apple Store where the lines are guaranteed to be longer.

Yes, as long as you have their account information.

It's a huge upgrade from the Droid Charge. I'd definitely do it if I were you.

"but she's got a new hat!"

seriously though, with the different models for different countries and such can someone explain to me which I would need as an Australian living in the United States? I want to be able to ideally switch it back to using an Australian sim card in the next year.

Also if i get a 2 year contract what will it cost for me to buy out of it in 1 years time? should i just buy one off contract?

That video just confirms that many iPhone users are complete idiots. But I knew this already.

Account number and passwords on their account I would think as well.
