Ya, but I didn't have much choice over the weekend unfortunately. I wanted to come out for the Boston series but there were conflicts. I got my jersey and another hat that might be strange enough to distract people's putts so it wasn't a total waste.

B&M is a heavily moderated forum, perhaps the most strictly modded on the site. You've been here since 2005 and you're just figuring this out now? That different forums have different standards is not due to "retarded consistency in modding" rather it is a deliberate feature to allow different forums to develop different cultures. Or did you not realize that BBV4Life is different from OOT is different from The Lounge?

Of course I realize that. I've been participating in B&M on and off since I've been here.

BTW, I just read your post and if you actually think that a completely unprovoked personal insult is the same thing as a "sarcastic joke" you have much bigger problems than an inability to gauge the varying mores and standards in different social circles.
|
I'm honestly flabbergasted that you are able to see a personal attack in what was a friendly joke. I can only assume that for some reason you guys have stricter standards for jokes directed towards poker industry employees.

A pokertek employee made a comment about how much he tips dealers. I posted:

You play at dealer tables? Hypocrite imo.

I thought the : rolleyes : made it clear it wasn't serious... Oh well, sorry to bring ATFesque stuff to this thread.

Wow, that isn't even close to an "unprovoked personal insult." Clearly a lighthearted jab.

Well, I PMed the mod who deleted the post and he seems to honestly believe that I was trolling the thread. He doesn't seem like a big "internet person", so I'm inclined to believe he was deleting it in good faith. It's just annoying.
As for CMAR, I get the feeling he just doesn't like me.

Apparently someone knows a person with my name and thought it was his gmail. For close to a year, I got emails with these elaborate trip reports including pictures, detailed itineraries, and updates on everyone in this person's family. I never told them, and by the time I figured I should, it had been too long, so I let it go and they must have eventually figured it out.

My gmail is first.last@gmail.com and there is someone that has firstlast@gmail.com. I know this because about once a month I randomly get one of his emails in my inbox. The weird part is 80% of the time it's a receipt for paramilitary gear.

Someone else is just entering your e-mail address with his orders, or it's random spam. Those two addresses are the same to google.

I have no idea who you are.
Maybe it's just me, but I'd have to know someone pretty damn well before I'd "jokingly" call them a "hypocrite" out of the blue.

Interesting, but the two addresses must have been created before this policy was in place because I can tell the difference between spam and a genuine 'Your Order Has Been Shipped' email and the mail gets delivered to my inbox without the '.' This person's name and address is also listed on swithboard and it matches the shipping address on the emails I've gotten.
