Culvers is indeed great, everything and anything + cheese curds is tough to beat fast food wise

My major problem with quiznos was the meat quality. If i'm paying more than subway i'm expecting better meat but i got some really gross chicken at quiznos a couple of times and haven't been back.

Rolled the dice and got a footlong cold cut combo - $4.44 and he didn't charge for the extra cheese score.

On a semi-unrelated story I walked out on like, $40 worth of groceries once when she refused to sell me beer because my wife didn't have ID with her (i had mine and I was 28 at the time). Cashier citing state law (100% false) put it over the top for me. Felt like kind of an ******* but that seemed better than the alternative.

Jimmy John's is ****ing great, but I still have yet to try the gargantuan. It's just really really really difficult to beat an italian night club (add hot peppers)

I know for sure this was the law in NY, and I had some guy get really pissy with me once about this.

I worked overnights in a convenience store (lolsummerjobaments) and this guy comes in with two giggling girls, I'd guess they were somewhere in their late teens. They go stand by the milk while he's at the beer section, but it was a small store and I can see him talking to them about what they want.

So when he walks up to the counter with a 12 pack of beer and two four packs of wine coolers I ask to see his ID and the ID of the two girls. He turned beet red and starting swearing and yelling that since he was buying I didn't need to see their ID, and they weren't together, and that's not the law anyway, yadda yadda. The two girls just looked sheepish and walked out while he was screaming at me, and when I refused to give him the alcohol he shoved the wine coolers across the counter and over the edge on my side, shattering a couple of them.

He stormed out while I just stood there with damp sneakers and started cursing myself at the mess I now I had to clean up. What a ****ty job that was.

+1 to all the culvers love, one of the better midwestern burger chains IMO.

i've had the W cheeseburger at Wendy's twice and it's been very good both times. At $2.99 it's one of the few things on Wendy's menu that doesn't feel absurdly overpriced. A new go-to item for me.

Yeah, and the food on the menu just gets sparser all the time. I ordered a 99c cheesy cheddar burger and it was smaller than a White Castle slider. It was good but seriously it was two bites.

Back in the day the JBC was the GOAT value menu play but I'm afraid those days are gone.

JJ is alright. I've had it couple times, and no complaints. Ive been eating at jersey mikes quite a bit lately. Pretty good subs. I was talking with a co worker a couple of days ago about quiznos and how they're not around anymore. After reading up on them. All I can do is laugh at how they ran that company into the ground. Typical american corporate greed claims another victim.

i ****ing love jimmy johns

pro tip- my friend works there (delivery driver) but occasionally is in store making sandwiches. the slim tuna (slim #3 afaik) has the same amount of tuna as the totally tuna and club tuna sandwiches and is arguably the best value on the menu.

i go back and forth between slim tuna's and INC's with hot peppers

Jimmy John's pro order:

Italian Night Club, easy mayo, extra onions, peppers, and sauce.

Also can't go wrong with the gargantuan with peppers.

Subway tip that might be common knowledge but I just figured out:

Different sauces (or veggies? or both?) on each half of a foot long = like two different sandwiches woohoo!

I don't get the ID law, otherwise how could a dad go shopping with his 14 year old son or something? Or older brother/sister etc, I just don't see how this is enforceable unless you rely only on cashier discretion which can be awful sometimes.

Maybe it's because I live in NY and can't get it all the time but I ****ing love JJs and can't fathom how anyone can eat Subway if theres a nearby JJs.

I <3 JJs, but their subs are pretty boring.

Bread is A+++ though, we used to stumble there after the bars in undergrad and get the day old bread for 50 cents and gnaw on that in the cab home.
