I had one yesterday.

had my first mcrib of the season the other day. extra pickles extra onions!

it wasn't that good just the meat itself was flavorless and the sauce had some kind of weird aftertaste.. seemed like they changed it from what i remember. anyway, i believe i will never eat a mcrib again. sad times.

Just ate a Turkey and Ham sub from Subway. Flatbread, spinach, cucumbers, pickles, jalapenos, italian sauce, light mayo and a little bit of pepper. Pretty decent.

Sounds pretty good! I would add some banana peppers...

I eat Subway on average about twice a month (including today). Even though I don't mind several of their sandwiches I almost always end up kicking myself for not going somewhere else. Even though the local sub shops are nothing they're still consistently better than Subway.

I've given up on Subway, if I want a quick, cheap sub that's not from a local sandwich shop I hit up Mr. Sub

I find subway to be very high variance by location.

Jimmy John's tends to be more consistent.

There are two Subways I frequent when I eat there (and they're very good), and the rest I avoid like the plague. I think a lot of it has to do with ownership.

Jimmy John's is good but damn they're pricey and lack the flexiblity of just telling a sandwich artist how and what to use to build it.

Hehe, true... But here's another knock, the peppers are sparse and randomly dispersed. They really need to add about 5x that amount.

Jimmy John's perfection is a #9, hot peppers, extra onions and dressing.

I get this exactly and it is amazing, what is "dressing" though? The vinegar and oil (or is it just oil)?

I was always a #8 guy, myself. The 9 with hot peppers is very good, and the gargantuan is a contender as well, but something about the 8 just always worked for me. I think it was the dijon.

A UM grad recently opened up a JJ in New Brunswick (Rutgers), but I haven't made it over there yet, so my last Jimmy Johns was May 2010.

Always going anything is suboptimal. Variety is the spice of life.

Exactly...

Animal style commits you to grilled onions. The fresh slab of cut onion on a non-animal style double-double is also awesome.

I love hot peppers but JJ's are terrible. I even picked them off after paying extra. Bleh. My go-to is the #11 (I think, it's the roast beef), with onions & sauce. I've tried #9 a few times but it's just a salt bomb imo. #14 and #17 are next.

I should also mention I still go there even after getting salmonella from the bean sprouts during that outbreak a year ago.

I love the Hunter's Club from JJ. Their roast beef is rare and awesome, and the mayo tastes delicious on it.

#9 is also awesome, obviously gotta get hot peppers on it. I'm also a fan of the gargantuan, as long as they don't overdo it on the vinegar/oil.
