Re: New fast food discussion/review thread
i had quite the fast food day, which is very rare for me.
lunch: big mac (haven't had one of these in years.. oh god yes) and 6 nuggets, about 850 calories
dinner: 1 double stack 1 crispy chicken at wendy's, 720 calories
add in a light breakfast and 90 minutes of racquetball, and i actually had a pretty healthy day!

I actually go with soft shell taco shells on the side... but hard shell is acceptable too. You're welcome.

As long as you can avoid fries and sodas, you're not doing too bad. That's where they get you with the high calories/satisfaction ratio.

Re: New fast food discussion/review thread
agreed, they're just not worth it. the only time i really enjoy fries is at a place where they have really good dipping sauces, essentially revealing the fry as what it is, a vehicle for sauce.

Re: New fast food discussion/review thread
Chick-Fil-A ... 4 count chicken minis and a side of hash browns @ breakfast. really the only 'fast food' I eat. never get the meal just get the entree + side of hashbrowns, and will buy an extra 3 count if I'm real hungry.
Should also mentioned you forgot Zaxby's! Chicken finger plate no coslaw extra fries (free of charge), or the Zax caesar with fried chicken.

imo it's pretty good, unless you're some kind of picky eater ****** who doesn't like grapes or cranberries or something.

burgerville won me over for sure. i live in dallas, but ill def vouch for burgerville for anyone lucky enough to live around portland.
i even promised my friend i'd eat vegetarian while i visited her in portland; still was remarkably pleased. portobello fries were bomb.

Just had one. Delicious, but not worth the $ imo ($8 and some change for a large combo).

Aye. I think I mentioned this before. Good, but not enough food for the money. If I want a meal I can count on to fill me up for less than $6, a chicken strip basket at Dairy Queen will do the trick. 4 strips of chicken, two pieces of texas toast, and fries.

Had one yesterday. It seemed wetter and mayonnaise-ier than I remember it being, but it'll still prob be my Subway go-to.

Re: New fast food discussion/review thread
The Orchard Chicken Salad was pretty good when I had it a while ago, but they really skimped on the chicken salad. I'd definitely get double meat if I got it again.

Deep fried dogs...
Anyone try it? Debating driving down to check them out. About an hour drive from me, so looking for recommendations.
Next on my want to try in NJ list is R U Hungry? The grease trucks at Rutger's. Probably try the classic fat darrell - these are all decadent heroes - which are almost garbage plates on bread. The Fat Darrel is lettuce, tomato, chicken fingers, mozz sticks, marinara sauce and french fries on a hero.
Pictured below:
Oh and I can definitely throw my vote behind all american burger in Massapequa, NY - grew up near there and it is definitely worth a trip. (Burger, knish, shake)
|
Anyone who wants a real good fat sandwich here at Rutgers, skip the Grease Trucks. Go there and check it out but don't get your food from there. The bread is god awful. Walk a couple of blocks on Easton Ave and go to Nuebies (across street from Scarlet Pub) and get a Fat Drunk and add bacon to it. It comes with lettuce and tomato but I leave that sh*t out. How dare you add veggies to my grease hoagie?!
You wanna talk about the nuts...
Bacon
Cheesesteak
Chicken Fingers
Mozz Stix
French Fries
BBQ Sauce
Honey Mustard
On a sub roll.
