I've been intrigued by this as well and kind of want to try it, but this:
makes it look like a turd with chunks of corn in it

lol, now I can never eat this thing.
Wendy's Spicy Chicken Sandwich Fans - sometimes, I will ask for them to add bacon slices to the sandwich. Still on the fence concerning whether or not this is an expert move, but I've never regretted it.

Re: New fast food discussion/review thread
Why do people care what it looks like, im really confused by that thought process. I dont like jalapeños so I would never get it but if I did I wouldnt mind it looking like that....

Re: New fast food discussion/review thread
I've heard the BK Jap Ched has no flavor. Also as far as 5 Guys, the double patty that comes standard really ruins the burger, but you feel like a wuss ordering the "Little Cheeseburger"

OK, think I'm actually going to take one for the team and give this BK corn-turd burger a try. Will post pics and review later.

as others have said, mcdoubles from mcdonald's dollar menu hands down. i think BK might have an equivalent, but it's basically a qp w/cheese (split into 2 patties), i.e. what they sell on the other side of the menu for ~3 dollars, except only for 1 dollar.
i work these 3 into my schedule somewhat consistently:
chick-fil-a - great chicken, extremely good waffle fries (i think my favorite fries of any of these places), relatively healthy
5 guys - best burger from the list hands down, also very good fries (though not as good as cfa, imo), and also relatively healthy (fries have lower satfat i think than most other fries, though i haven't checked the numbers)
chiptole - my #1 current goat from the list, i can't get enough of this ****. the burritos are huge, you get to customize each order, their hot salsa is ++++ great, and i think for the amount of food you get it's cheaper than 5guys and cfa. also i've sort of convinced myself its healthy-ish (there's veggies it's basically a salad duh!!!!)

From here, a chicken burrito with rice, black beans, hot salsa, cheese, sour cream, guac, and lettuce is about 1145c and 52g of fat. Not bad, considering it clocks in at 100c and 2g of fat less than a similarly dressed Qdoba Queso Burrito!
Seriously, I love those types of places as well, but there's nothing about eating a two-pound burrito that's healthy.

Re: New fast food discussion/review thread
mia,
"-Long John Silver's (never been)"
I've never been either, but you must go for this:
http://www.examiner.com/chain-restau...-john-silver-s
Upon request, Long John Silver's will give you a free box of the chunks of fried breading that have fallen off all the shrimp and fish and never made it to other customers' meals. Just ask for “a side of fried crumbs” and the server should know what you mean.

Side of Crumbs - This is a (Free!) box of fried batter parts that have fallen off the fried fish or chicken. Great to put on top of salads.

Awesome. Back in high school when we used to go to diners late at night regularly, I once commented that all of the fried foods seemed to produce identical crumbs, which led me to wonder if you could order this exact dish. EDIT: My preferred nomenclature would have been "yes, I'd like the fried."

Re: New fast food discussion/review thread
I haven't had 5 Guys since they expanded into a chain, but their original location had terrible fries that some people inexplicably loved. They were soggy and too thick - basically just slow boiled in oil.

It's easy to cherry pick a burrito like that, but there are plenty of relatively healthy options at Chipotle. If you got a Burrito Bol, you cut off 300 calories and can get in at around 700-800 calories, which is about a Subway footlong. For example, I get every single ingrediant on my burrito except for beans, green salsa, and guac, and my steak burrito clocks in at 995 calories. Eliminate the tortilla and you got a 700 calorie meal which is very filling and has a ton of protein.

Re: New fast food discussion/review thread
Are there SmashBurger chains nationwide, or is it just a Minnesota thing?
They're always full, but when I went to try it the burger was a pretty gross. Terrible value.

Re: New fast food discussion/review thread
OK first review time:
AMERICA **** YEAH
beat: they didn't give me the burger I ordered (the stuffed steakhouse burger)
brag: burger I got (Steakhouse XT Burger) was actually pretty damn good
I hadn't been to Burger King in a while, but I was a big fan of the BK Broiler back in high school. They seem to have a whole range of these Steakhouse burgers now; as mentioned, I ordered the Stuffed Steakhouse one with the corn and jalapenos mixed in but discovered when I got home that they had given me a Steakhouse XT, which is a big burger with A1 sauce and crispy fried onion straws. I was pretty impressed with how tasty this was. Only complaint was that it was a bit overdone and charred on the outside, but that's standard for Burger King I guess. The A1 and onions were a great addition though, I can definitely see myself ordering this burger again. BK fries were as I remembered them, serviceable but nothing to write home about at all. Price (with tax) for combo w/large fries and drink was $7.72.
Overall grades:
Steakhouse XT burger: 7.5/10
Fries: 5/10
