Triple cheese seems like a suboptimal ratio

Confirmed. Maybe mac sauce would help though.

Goof,

What a haul for $3.99 total across your two kiosk visits!

Portland burger week happens in early August. Plan your trip now (it's probably the best time of year to visit).

Had the Tri-Tip sandwich Santa Barbara style at The Habit today. Outstanding. Restaurant quality good. I make Tri-Tip once a week for my bar & grill and we slice it thin and serve it French Dip style. The Habit slices it thick, like brisket. It was med rare and really tender. I almost asked someone if I could go behind the counter and see how they do it. I had sweet potato fries and a drink and the total was just under $15 which I would gladly pay again.

Looks like the new Taco Bell item this month is a double chalupa. I wasn't motivated by the picture to try it, looks like it'll be a mess to eat.

Went to Arby's instead, really on a run of superior fast food with them. Loaded italian sandwich and piping hot potato cakes were excellent and satisfying.

I had the double chalupa box for lunch, and it was indeed very messy. Otherwise not bad. And of course the boxes are always decent value, you get to stuff yourself silly for six bucks and change.

It is a mess (do not eat in your car), but def good. it's basically a super-sized chalupa. beef, lettuce. tomatoes, cheese and sour cream. the box deal is the double chalupa, 2 tacos and med drink. was the perfect lunch sized meal, will getting again multiple times.

ala carte the double chalupa is $3.49 which is terrible value by itself so only order w/the box.

the boxes have been $5.99 for a while now. I don't know where they are $5 anymore even though that's what they advertise.

Went to Vegas for the first time last week (first time even traveling away from the East Coast).. First move after I got my room was to head to In-n-Out.

It was... fine. Kind of disappointing due to all of the hype I've heard about it. I got a double double no onions, and well-done animal style fries.

Both items were solid. I was expecting more though.

I went with a spicy double chalupa box today. Very solid. Can confirm I paid 5 bucks. Stand alone item was 3.49

This is how I felt at first too, given how hyped it is. I've learned to appreciate its quality and simplicity more now that I can get it more often in AZ, a double single animal style is delightful imo, but I still don't get the people who go nuts for it and treat it as anything more than solid FF

Its exactly that, but there are so few quality drive through burgers, that its elevated well above normal for that reason.

Also, I think their seasoning is spot on. A double double plain is very good if you love well spiced meat and cheese flavors.

is the double chalupa the same as the XXL chalupa from a couple years ago?

It's the best FF one on the market as far as I'm concerned. Five Guys, Culvers, Red Robin, etc are not as good imo.

Also In and Out is a pretty sick value comparatively too.

I had the Double Chalupa, and I didn't get it in the box because the box didn't have the other big ticket items that I craved. Got the spicy version, was pretty good, definitely sloppy.

Gotta add whole grilled onion and chopped chilis to that in and out burger! I used to get animal style but I have since switched to that combo.

I've been told to get chilis but the "chopped" aspect had been neglected. Also as an aside if you have a BoA credit card they frequently have a $2.50 cash back deal, which is nuts compared to any other offered deal.

Yeah just asked for chopped chili's and they will slice those sport pepper like chilis thin and layer on the bottom of burger. Adds a nice little spice and I get it every time. Also just get a packet of the spread as a dipping option for fries or burger instead of full on animal sauce.

I do love some in n out, but yesterday I got five guys and holy ****, the burger was incredible! My wife and I both said at almost the same exact time, "I think five guys is better than in n out."

Little hamburger all the way plus jala
