Publix 8 piece fried chicken + 16oz coleslaw + 16oz Potato salad + 4 Hawaiian Rolls for $12.49 is awesome. And the chicken is like double the size of KFC.

Oh man, I'm jealous. No Publix here, or even Albertson's or Kroger's since the late 90s or so. HEB drove them all out, and now my HEB won't even sell fried chicken! Cheap grocery store fried chicken is one of life's more profound simple pleasures.

I'm a big fan of the Rotisserie chicken. 5 bucks.
Also great re-heated. But I like my chicken super well done.

I am a huge lol BK guy but I just went for a bacon king and it was damn good, would eat again. I also noticed they have some weird **** at BK, a fruit loops shake and cheeto Mac n cheese sticks were intriguing but the burger was enough food for me

Okay you ****ers I get it. Next time I'll say no slaw extra toast to make up for my previous blunder.

I'm trying to cut dairy out of my diet but that from loops shake sounds intriguing.

ACME Supermarkets in NJ and PA has basically the same deal. They turn out fresh fried and grilled chicken on an hourly schedule all throughout the day. They use fresh chicken and a proprietary wet batter which blows away KFC, Popeyes, etc.

Dark meat is always the pro move in fried chicken.

If you go individual pieces at Kroger it breaks down like this:

Breast $1.99
Wing $1.29
Leg & thigh $1 each

♡ Publix. They make damn good Boars Head sandwiches . Their chicken tender subs are great too.

This is not the first time I've dealt with this and I understand why they do it but frankly it's a little embarrassing. If I ate wherever healthy people eat it wouldn't be a big deal but kinda just wish they'd pretend they didn't recognize me and let me pretend to eat anonymously

Anyone else deal with this? Tips?
Didn't you have a post about somewhere else knowing you, before?

I can't imagine kiosks being a good idea. Can you imagine the average McDonalds user trying to punch in a meal for a family of 4? These Morans can't ever swipe a credit card and pump gas in an economical timeframe. I would probably go Code Red on someone before too long.

Anyone familiar with a burger chain from New Zealand called burgerfuel? Just tried it, decent, but I always feel like grass fed beef doesn't have quite the same richness of flavor. They were also out of ketchup and only had their dipping sauce for the fries, which struck me as odd. Americans generally like ketchup with their fries.

To be clear I am not in New Zealand, they just opened a franchise in my city.

Anyone ever had pizza from sams club? I almost grabbed a slice last week when I was getting tires put on, but I didn't. It looked pretty good...

I got a six pack of those chicken chips from Taco Bell to try out. Aren't they supposed to come with nacho cheese for dipping? They didn't. I also got a couple of soft tacos and had kind of planned my meal around that nacho cheese. I had a PLAN. That TB I asked to try harder is not doing so. That place is going to awaken my inner LOWLIFE here soon.

Plans entire order around nacho cheese.
Doesn't check nacho cheese.

You can think that's nacho problem, but it is.

I had the same experience with the Naked Chicken Chips box. I checked the box for taco sauce packets as I always do (my TB is notorious for forgetting those), but didn't realize until later that it was supposed to come with cheese dipping sauce as well. Explains why they were sort of dry and boring.

Haven't had Sam's club but Costco has good enough pizza slices and those stores are basically the same thing

Pretty happy with my value town dinner tonight

There's a little taco shop right next to a McDonald's down the street from my house that's has $1 regular size shredded beef tacos on Monday/Tuesday.

So my take was:
2 shredded beef tacos
1 hot spicy McChicken
1 large Coke
Medium Rolo McFlurry to put in freezer for later (free with any purchase on the app

Total : $4.14

Variance - could have skipped the coke and got it down to $3.14 but I'm a sucker for that McDonald's coke quite often

Annoyingly hot today so I hit up BK for a $1 Coke Icee. Used to get those about once a year as a kid, at JCPenney of all places. Enjoyed it.

I don't blame Popeyes here for raising the Tuesday 2 piece special up to $2.29+tax. But nor do I begrudge California for its higher minimum wage. The wendys next door still has 4 for 4, though, so good values still abound.

Durango,

FYI I learned last week the freezer destroys the delicious mcflurry. Take it down fast right after your meal!
