The Checkers we were at had a sign that read "Cheddar Biscuit Wings and Fries Bowl" but I have no idea what that means. I'm also not 100% certain it didn't have shrimp in there, somehow.

IYO, what is the single grossest food item that can be purchased at a national fast food establishment?

I feel that Taco Bell not having a bell is akin to false advertising.

They have Spam Sandwiches!

Spam sandwiches are pretty good. Bourdain thinks so too. Burgers are bad. Chicken is good. They give gravy with the chicken. Haven't tried anything else.

Get the halo halo for a dessert experience if you ever go to jollibee's.

Craving fried chicken that GOAT food, I used a Church's coupon yesterday, 4 dark pieces for $2.99. Regular is the smart play at Church's imo; leave the spicy for the pros at Popeye's. The usual greasy goodness, and great service too at this particular one. Indian family owns/runs it, polite and efficient. It's up by UTSA.

KFC has the $5 fill-up, but Jollibee's has the $5 Filipino.

How often do you eat fried chicken?

Pork cracklings! They manage to make bacon sound bad.

Just discovered there is a Long John Silver's 3 miles away! I intend to try the new fish they've been advertising.

I think back to my two LJS experiences in Las Vegas. This first was extraordinary, the next day was the opposite.

Tried the Georgia Gold a couple of days ago with crispy pieces. Was not good at all, just oily and messy. And I'm normally a fan of honey mustard type dressings and sweeter bbq sauces. Very little flavor from it, worse than regular KFC.

I'm really surprised people even bother with KFC anymore with all the superior chicken places. Haven't had KFC in like 10 years and have no reason to try it anytime soon.

Pretty sure it's 25% nostalgia, 25% laziness, 25% false perception of value, 10% wanting to try the new items and the rest pure stupidity. KFC could be great, it just ... isn't.

On the road today, which means opportunities to stop at places that aren't convenient like Chick-Fil-A. I think if I had one close by I'd have a frosted lemonade 6 days a week all summer long. I was kind of bummed that I missed breakfast by about 15 minutes since what I really wanted was a chicken biscuit.

Also got a couple sliders later on at White Castle, hot, fresh and greasy just the way they're meant to be. And I wasn't even drunk.

God the Crunchwrap is so good and a great value in the $5 box.

I've gotten it some embarrassing amount like 6 of the last 8 days for lunch or dinner. For the lunch visits I've typically gotten an extra order to-go to cover my dinner, so I've probably eaten a total of 8 Crunchwraps in those 8 days

Tried to do my ghetto french dip yesterday at Arby's. I remember doing this often 5-6 years ago, get 3 jr roast beef sandwiches, side of au jus, and a small curly fries and it was around $5. Yesterday it was around $8 and the food was TERRIBLE. The roast beef was dry and rough, like pieces of shaved-off foot callus skin. The curly fries were undercooked, which is basically the only way to ruin curly fries. I hope Arby's isn't going downhill now. Next time I go there I'm going to have to get the chicken bacon swiss, which used to be great.

Make sure you know what you're getting. That's what I used to get years ago, then last time I got it (after a multi-year gap) I discovered it now has some kind of dijon honey mustard sauce. I was expecting mayo, so it was a surprise.
