Potato taco is probably one of the three things I haven't had from the value menu. Please sell it to me... at first glance it seems like the best way to sell this mornings leftover hash browns.

I used to get it a lot, but not anymore. Basically I thought there was substance for a dollar. Certainly not bad, I guess. If you could get one of the new griller sauces on it, probably be decent.

I really liked it, my potatoes were surprisingly crisp. I found it to be superior value to both value menu quesadillas.

Meh. Virtually every Chinese place that specialized in takeout (i.e. just a counter) will have a lunch special in the $5-6 range that beats Panda Express handily on both quantity and quality. I love drive-thrus and would love to endorse Panda, but they can't compete with the immigrant family crammed into some tiny little kitchen.

The flavors work for me. You can eat it quick on the go. Probably not the most filling item but it won't have you running for the bathroom. The pepper jack sauce goes well with the potatoes but only if they are cooked properly #welldone. If they are soft which I've had before the taco is shot. I'm batting about 80% on getting crunchy potatoes with my order. The simplistic nature of it plays.

Panda appeal for me is not having to call ahead obv but yeah I hear ya on the tiny local places as those typically beat any chain.

But seriously piping hot orange chicken is elite IMO

I recall people scoffing at me for citing not having to call ahead as a reason for buying a Little Caesars Hot N Ready pizza.

I've never been to Panda Express I don't think. What do you pay for an entree, rice, and egg roll there, ballpark.

I had Taco Bell and each griller. They were good and ghost pepper definitely had a kick, but all three were too much with the tortilla strips I feel. So I don't recommend hammering all three at the same time. I have that TBell feeling right now...regret.

BTW also think I killed my TB order today:

2 ghost grillers
2 habanero grillers
1 chipotle griller
1 stuft nacho
side of jalapeno sauce, which was some other red sauce but not jalapeno.

$7.05

ship it

Just had the last habanero after 40 seconds in microwave. Not too shabby.

TGIFridays endless apps -- I haven't been to a Friday's in a long time, but I get emails. $12 for endless apps that you can change, or $10 for keeping the same endless app. Anyone try this lately?

Is boneless chicken wings the go to here? Might be good for watching the game or something.

I'd pay the extra two bucks to sample the entire menu. They've changed their price structure on that as well. Key is to have a friend that works there that doesn't give a damn if you and someone else split it and chow down.

Taco Bell ghost pepper griller confirmed spicy. Mixed with a little fire sauce it could be the spiciest FF item I have had. Talked to lady at the drive thru who confirmed you can get a side of ghost pepper sauce so looks like we finally have a side of legitimately hot stuff for a limited time.

Do we agree that lava sauce is better than ghost pepper sauce?
New fast food discussion/review thread Quote

Correct, I would still choose lava sauce if it was available

Definitely lava sauce.

Maybe I'm a newb here but just went to a restaurant with the gf and got a sampler platter with 4 items on it. The part about the sampler I didn't know is you can mix and match any of the 4 items listed. This changes the sampler platter game for me completely going forward.

would pick lava over ghost pepper, and i put three packs of fire sauce on the two ghost pepper grillers the first time i had them. Malucci's point earlier about the tortilla strips weighing things down is exactly how i felt. with the tortilla and the strips, i think the optimal comfort play is to only order one (possibly two) as an addition to your usual TB menu play. making a meal out of grillers will likely kick a guy in the nuts.
