On the McDonald's front, has anyone tried the popcorn chicken things yet? I had already ordered yesterday before I saw them on the drive through sign. Looks like the snack size could be a nice addition to my normal McDouble/McDouble/small fry/$1 tea order.

my local mcd's only has the one at the speaker, despite having the drive through lane circle around two sides of the building before reaching the order speaker (so it's not a space consideration)

It's a pet peeve of mine too.

Another pet peeve: My drive thru has two speakers, so they can accommodate taking two orders at a time. Ok, sounds good.

But they still can't keep up on the order filling, so it's pretty much a waste of effort on the front end. Not to mention half the time (if you get mcnuggets), they want you to wait in a parking spot for your food.

If we're talking about pet peeves, the Wendy's I sometimes go to always has a line at lunch, and an employee goes down the line and asks you what you want, writes it on a slip of paper. It'd be one thing if they took the slips and started making your food, but they just hand it back to you, then you give it to the cashier, who punches in your order. This is to "speed things up".

I used to be a Burger King apologist, but wow they suck. Pretty much never eating there again unless it's some last resort. Sad how far they have fallen when their best menu item is a the Tendercrisp Bacon Ranch and their Onion Rings.

word. maybe they think mic panic=more food ordered? or it's some kind of way to space cars to prevent backups or deflect blame for them? though if some people are saying they have multiple menus (i've never seen one) maybe it's just an older flaw in design and not for some socially-engineered reason.

had burger king today, got the cheddar bacon topper thing meal. $5.69 for the meal, the burger was small and nothing special, fries were fresh and hot atleast. i like their fries tbh. it was a damn ripoff tho for $5.69
