Already mentioned but the Norm MacDonald stand-up special is so good. Highly recommend.

I kind of didn't notice the dropoff in house of cards season 2...I really enjoyed the 1st season. Then complete blah. Worse than average...hard to watch even. I don't think it has to do with trump's presidency either.

They just added Rounders and Full Metal Jacket.

I like to watch them again every few years.

I liked House of Cards S1, and was one of the few to like S2 even better.

I don't know if I have it in me to continue with what will be 4+ more seasons to "complete" the story though. This is becoming a problem with many shows now, especially if you fall behind.

It would be nice to start seeing real 3-season-and-done "planned" arcs for shows.

(There are exceptions, like give David Lynch whatever he wants to make as much Twin Peaks as he wants, because he's trustworthy enough as an artist that you know he won't be dragging plots on for the payday.)

Joel Kinnaman sucks in this role.

Just started S3 of Shameless. WOW. Can't believe I waited so long to check it out. Absurd/hilarious situations abound. Bravo.

remember house of cards s1 being excellent, then s2 lost me the first episode with the most absurd "shocking moment" I have seen, and I watch some pretty absurd dramas. still watched it out but didnt love it, didnt watch anything from s3.

i feel the british version (which was first) to be far superior, 3 seasons, 4 eps each. the first season of american version followed story arc, from then on, its just it's own thing, and will continue endlessly till interest wanes. when shows do this, they normally don't get better.

I feel like I've thought "this is kinda bad," after a few episodes since S3 HOC but end up hooked soon enough and binging the rest every time.

I wish they'd wrap it up with the next season, but I'm sure it'll keep going on and on and on.

I think I got spoilt for HOC due to having already watched the original UK version. UK version was incredibly good. I started watching 13 reasons and didn't make it through the first episode. It wasn't awful bad but just didn't sit right.

Could someone who has seen the UK version of Shameless please give me a review/comparison of the US version?

Season 1 of HoC was entertaining as hell and very well made but still just absolute cheese. s2&3 had all the cheese none of the entertain and I haven't and have no desire to go back.

That is tough 4 me to answer because Blazing Saddles and History of the World Part 1 were my introduction to Mel Brooks and will always have a place in my heart, but the breaking the 4th wall ending to Blazing Saddles ruins what is otherwise a comic masterpiece. I think Blazing Saddles had some of the best one-liners, but for me it's a tossup between History of the World and Young Frankenstein as far as brook's best film.
