I better pace myself with Weeds S1-S3, Netflix Canada only has S1 so far! I liked the first episode, off to a good start. One of those shows I always meant to watch but never got around to it. Lovin' Netflix IMO

I don't get the hate for the later seasons of Weeds. That might be because I watched all 5.5 seasons out so far pretty much in a row over the last month, so I didn't have a lot of built of expectations while waiting a year?

LOL I gotcha. It can be a tough crowd around here. Admitting to liking that and 10 Things I Hate About You could make people think I've caught the ghey. And Zooey is amazing. Summer easily comes in at number 2 of favorite characters I'd marry on the spot, right behind Veronica Mars.

I don't really feel you swearing and this aggression is needed. I really fail to see why asking what movies people like is derailing a thread about netflix instant watch. Since there is such a vast amount of movies I thought we could share ideas and you know....find people we have stuff in common with like normal function people in society.

LOL, I didn't even realize I was derailing....I figured it would help generate discussion and keep the thread flowing. On that note Seasons 1/2 of Dexter are on Instant Watch or whatever it's called.

It's good man, it gets better as you see Nancy sorta coming "undone" if you will and going down the rabbit's hole of drug dealing.

It's not that they're "bad" per say, but rather that they're marginal at best imo. I'll include this in spoilers for croshow so it doesn't ruin anything.

Spoiler:
Like at the end of 3 (I think it was 3) when guermo (spelling?) burns the town down and she becomes part of the mexican mafia is just like way over the top imo. Then they start running the tunnel underground and she dates the political guy who's like the head drug runner. What I thought was great about this show is that she is a small timer. A housewife that's in something she's completely unfamiliar with. She's dealing with all these emotions of Judah dying and being a widow. She has to save face to everyone else who doesn't know she deals. By 4/5 season that gets tossed out the window lol. I mean I think the subtleties of her being vunerable and when she has to give the ring judah gave her as collateral was a really great moment. Once Nancy starts banging everybody it's kinda just like wtf? But she did bang that dealer who jacked her, but I think that was strictly for manipulation and even then it felt forced and outta place for me.

Sorry I didn't F5 to see your msg so I'll just re-quote you. Yeah, I usually lurk here as I'm worried of infractions and temp bans since I sometimes use the MP and it looks bad to be banned temporarily lol.

Anyways....Yeah I also liked "10 Things I Hate About You" as well. I think that and (500) do very well for what there purposes were. Like they aren't the funniest movies but I really fell in love with the characters and enjoy seeing them progress in each of the movies. I mean how can you not love Heath Ledger (RIP) in 10 Things, guys amazing. Great point on Zooey being an instant marry on the spot. When she sings The Smiths with him, I was like awww that's awesome lol. I dream of meeting a girl who likes my favorite bands and is like her in the movie.

So is veronica mars worth a spin? I'm not big on smallville and Battlestar Galatica type stuff. Do you think it'd still be worth smashing through season 1? Usually when I start watching a show I usually devote to it :O. I've been on a Dexter binge since season 1 lol.

Good for you. Nonetheless, the thread title is "Netflix Watch Instantly", not "Netflix Watch Instantly and Whatever Else killer_kill Wishes to Discuss". DK is absolutely right...the Canadian stuff may be meaningless to a lot of us but it's on topic. Discussing movies that can't be watched instantly are off-topic not to mention a tease, and gets in the discussion of streaming content.

I think so and clearly a lot of people on this board agree. There was a large amount of positive feedback on the show a few pages back. The show really is in a league of it's own and had no business being canceled. Kristen Bell is insanely likable and it's not your typical high school garbage/drama show you'd think of as being on the CW, which probably explains why it was canceled. I think it was too smart for the viewers, that and poor advertising. The 3rd season falls off a bit but season 1 and 2 are exactly what you're looking for since you marathon shows (same here). I really enjoyed all of the little references to classic movies/culture that you're going to pick up on if you're not a 16 year old girl.

BTW Dexter is/was freaking amazing. I don't like having to wait on S5 to come out on DVD, I really considered paying for Showtime because of this show alone.

I'm pretty sure this is on the instant watch. If not I'm not looking to get temp banned for derailing. So if on the off chance it isn't lets take this to pm.

But yeah I'll probably check it out due to the feedback itt. What is it briefly about as sort of a cliff of what to expect? Isn't she an alien or something like that? I might be totally off on that.

I'm pretty sure it's still on Instant Watch (it was going away soon), but does anyone else really like Memento? It's one of Christopher Nolan's first movies (Dark Knight, The Prestige, Inception etc) and the movie runs backwards if you aren't familiar with it.

I'm really not intentionally singling you out to be a dick to, but c'mon man.

A) It's not on Watch Instantly anymore
B) You can look up in like 10 seconds whether something is on Watch Instantly
C) That movie is super popular and has probably been seen by the majority of 2+2ers and nearly everyone is familiar with it
D) Have you seen The Lounge? You can discuss whatever movie you want without dicks like me giving you a hard time... http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/63...ussion-review/

Not really sure why I'd mention these, but I recently watched Constantine's Sword and Deepwater. Constantine is a doc about the long history of the Catholic church's anti-semitism (stuff on the Crusades and before), up to the present day with evangelicals being a big problem infiltrating the U.S. military. It's alright...if it appeals to you go for it.

Deepwater is kind of a standard "steamy thriller with twists". Except it's not steamy (no nudity and the sex scenes are horrible). It's the typical "guy gets seduced in over his head and we don't even know the extent of the conspiracy, but maybe all is not what it seems" story. It actually starts off mildly promising (for a direct-to-DVD/streaming thriller). Eventually it gets to be so terrible that you have to wonder if it's intentionally bad. It's almost fascinating. Kristen Bell is in it but it's incredibly obvious that they hired her for basically one scene so that they could put her name on the DVD. There are a few other faces that you'll recognize but not quite be able to place.

Fair enough. I never read the lounge so I really had no idea. Simply posting this would've been a lot better, than acting like that over a minor derail that wasn't intentional. Like I said I didn't realize it'd be under a derail on my original post.

Well what is anyone watching lately that's awesome, that's potentially flying under the radar? I saw they have Ren and Stimpy, I enjoyed that show.

Edit- That one about the church sounds pretty cool.

I've watched through season 2 of bgalatica and the mini series is best of it so far, though i would still say I think the show is maybe the best fraking overall scifi series I've seen. The gf even seems to like it, which is odd.

Just watched Gamer. I enjoyed it (except the expected terrible ending), however I am a sucker for cheesy action/sci-fi movies with interesting concepts. Plus, it has Gerard Butler, Michael C. Hall, Ludacris, and lots of titties. That's a winning combination in my book.

My neighbor said that was a good movie and in it's my queue to watch, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll have to check it out. I'm actually suprised how good of an actor Ludacris is. I hope that's not a derail talking about ludacris (being serious).

Any good tv series anyone's watching lately? I tried getting back into lost w/season 5 and it's just too weird. Is it worth getting back into?
