Both Bad Lieutenant movies are top notch, albeit quite different from one another aside from the name.

The Vicious Kind; indie dramedy with Adam Scott is pretty awesome.

None of the above. It's a licensing issues. It's the same reason we've never been able to access Hulu or watch streaming television shows directly from the US network websites.

For example... The Lord of the Rings is distributed in the US by New Line Cinema so Netflix has an agreement with New Line that allows them to offer the movie. In Canada LoTR is distributed by Alliance Films. Netflix doesn't have a relationship with Alliance so they can't offer the movie. This is the case with pretty much every movie or television show.

The question is whether or not Netflix will make the effort to hammer out agreements with these distributors.

Interesting. I'd imagine they would have to because if the selection stays this poor I can't see them lasting in Canada.

Unless you have been in jail for the past 4 years and missed stuff from 2006, than maybe you will enjoy it
By what measure is it downright awful for movies? There are a ton of great movies (yea theres even more ****** movies, but you don't have to watch those) to choose from.

Unless you're talking about the Canadian version which is apparently much more limited.

Alliance is also guilty of putting out rush jobs on their blu-rays, sub-part quality and stuff like no subtitles, no extras. i hate alliance =(

I think he means the US version, and that's just an awful comment. I'm thinking of ditching my 75 cable movie channels because of the depth of the Netflix streaming library. It's pretty ridic to say it's limited in terms of titles.

Yeah that one mouse click or game controller button press every 22 minutes is really tilting.

Yeah, as long as you don't go in expecting to find whatever blockbuster you want to watch, you should be able to find something worth watching. Use the discs for blockbusters/recent releases, use WI to fill in the gaps. My WI queue is currently at 148, so I don't have any excuse for watching garbage on my TV because "nothing is on".

yeah my queue is at 155. my disc usage has dropped from 2/week or so to less than 1/week over the last few months as i've been watching more and more stuff on WI.

netflix is just such a sick value, it's ridiculous.

scratch that. Disk 1 is the miniseries, Instant viewing only has disk two which is technically episode 1 of the show. But it still starts off great.
Watched this over the course of a couple weeks. It was pretty good. Frusterating that I couldn't see the first "lead-in" mini-series, but I just read a recap of it online and felt up to speed when the show started.

X Games: The Movie was done realllly well and I think it would probably be enjoyable to someone who didn't grow up watching them.
