Assuming you go by the iTunes/Amazon pricing of ~$2/episode. Heck, aren't HD episodes often $2.99?

I mean, 1 season of a show usually goes for $20-30. I probably go through a few complete seasons a month plus a few movies and other random episodes. Of course, I wouldn't buy that many seasons if I had to pay $20/month, but yeah even with the price increase and admittedly not great selection, it's still sick value.

I'm actually about to cancel the DVD service just because I'm so lazy about it that I only get through a few disks/month (I'll use Redbox instead), but I don't see me dropping WI anytime soon.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"

just forced myself to watch The Killing over the past week or two. watched like 3 eps then figured I should watch the rest, plus I wanted to see who killed Rosie. great idea for a show and good acting.. but man, I think I give this one a C

unfortunately, I am definitely going to watch season 2. not sure what that says about my opinion of the show though.

Wow really? I watched one episode and it was the least funny thing I think I have ever seen and gave up. Worth a 2nd attempt I guess?

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"

Firefly is a pretty good show, too bad sci-fi doesn't work on the big networks because this could of hit at least 50 episodes.

Do yourself a favor and watch the first couple minutes of THE MILL AND THE CROSS. Then you can just turn it off.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"

New format is awesome for sitcom watchers like myself, I used to be annoyed that when I wanted to watch the next episode I had to exit full screen to hit next episode or else sit through the credit of every episode.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"

Paste Magazine just issued their list of 50 Best WI Titles:

http://www.pastemagazine.com/blogs/l...x-instant.html

List can't be cut-and-pasted due to recaps on each title, so you'll have to click link but I will list top 10:

1 - Bicycle Thief
2 -Chariots of Fire
3 - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
4 - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
5 - The Gold Rush (Charlie Chaplin 1925)
6 - Big Lebowski
7 - Chinatown
8 - True Grit (2010)
9 - Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
10 - Metropolis

Pretty predictable I guess.

As a matter of fact most of the list doesn't have any surprises, but I did see this one that I hadn't heard of before that I may try to watch:

34. Oldboy
Year: 2005
Director: Park Chan-wook
Park Chan-wook’s Oldboy is a mind-trip like no other, not to mention so violent it puts Quentin Tarantino’s flicks to shame. The film’s setup: a man thirsts for revenge and answers after he is held prisoner in a hotel room for 15 years, without ever knowing why. As the story movies from one bloody rampage to another, the film’s daring audacity gives away to a beating heart behind the madness. Packing a potent psychological punch, Oldboy is in a category all its own.—Jeremy Medina

Anyone see that? (Sorry if it's been discussed itt before - I may have missed it.)

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"

I didn't like Oldboy, IIRC I hated the ending, but liked most everything up to that point. I liked the other 2 movies in the revenge trilogy from same director, "Sympathy For Mr. Vengence, and Lady Vengence". Also, I Saw The Devil is really good and I liked The Chaser a lot too.
