The PBS Patrick Stewart version of Macbeth is available streaming until 1/15/12. Worth a look if you haven't seen it.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"
I've been looking forward to True Grit, but found it terribly disappointing. Maybe my expectations were too high. I usually like Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon, but this film felt really flat to me.
After it was over I watched the original version, which I'd never seen, and found it to be almost 80 percent the exact same movie only -- considering its age -- a slightly better film overall.

this is a movie that was really worth seeing in theaters. i can understand why it'd seem flat watching at home.

/\ I loved seasons 1 & 2, but so far 3 is kind of losing me. I'm about half way through it so far.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"
Passively watching x files again and currently on s3. Half the episodes are skippable but I tend to cook or do household stuff while those episodes are playing. Lols at things like "he must be calling from a cell phone we can't trace it".
I tried Portlandia, first episode made me lol a lot and I couldn't make it through the second. This will make you laugh, however it seems more like it should have been a recurring skit on snl rather than a show all by itself. Id rather take a hot needle to the eye than watch a whole season.

Stick with it to the very end, I'm almost positive you'll thank me.
Watching Portlandia tonight, pretty funny but then again I like anything that ****s on hipsters.

stop there. s2 was so unrecognizeably terrible. it was like the show just drove off a cliff. fwiw i really liked s1.
----
soa- i've heard that s3 was pretty bad, but that 4 was the best yet- so i'd say, just keep on pluggin thru. (i'm about to start s2 myself)

Heroes Season 2 wasn't completely terrible, but season 3 was an ungodly bag of Aids.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"
Was bored and fired up Netflix for the first time in months a few days ago.
Blue Mountain State Season 3 - Is this a Netflix only release? My friend and I drank a bottle of applejack with apple cider and watched three episodes of this before going out. We quoted BMS episodes the entire night to make the gurlz laugh. BMS gets you laid. ****/****
Senna - One of the best documentaries I have seen in recent years. I watched this with my roommate, who said that a good documentary makes you care about something you would not normally care about. I love open-wheel car racing and knew basically everything that was already in this movie. He has never seen a minute of a car race in his life. We both loved this movie. ****/****
True Grit (Coen brothers version) - Have seen this before, but rewatched it. This movie displays great poise. ****/****
True Grit (John Wayne version) - why do people like John Wayne? He is so terrible at acting. I watched this after the Coen brothers version. Turned it off halfway because it was unwatchable. */****
Portlandia - watched an episode of this. Terrible. Fred Armisen is a poor man's Chris Kattan which is really saying something. */****
