bandwith is going to prevent this from happening for quite some time, if ever.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"
Yeah, I was getting this for a little while too before I got my high-speed at my place and was instead using the Verizon Wireless Air-card.
I was confused by it also. It would got fine for however long and then it would crap out and sometimes would say that its exepcted buffering time would be 3 hours and 17 minutes or something ridiculous. This would happen after I had watched 2 or 3 straight movies without a problem. But it seems like if you have the teeniest mini-disconnection or something it freaks out and doesn't know how to get it back.
I don't believe I had this problem while actually playing poker at the same time though. I only got it when I wasn't doing anything else on the computer at the time and was only watching the movie.
Small sample-size though.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"
I went to watch Quantum Leap S1 the other night but found out that disc1 is only available through the mail while the rest are available to watch instantly.
This seemed a bit odd

yeah I saw this for some other series and was like "eff this." I'm assuming they're having licensing issues with particular producers/writers/actors.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"
yeah, they had done this for Columbo too but now some of Season 1 is available.
What's weird is that it only has maybe half of the episodes, seemingly random, available for instant-viewing while the others I can have shipped to my house if I really wanted.
Since Columbo isn't really a continuing story-line it works out okay but it just seems weird to offer Season 2 for instant-viewing but you can only watch every other episode pretty much.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"
By far my greatest enjoyment of the "Watch Instantly" feature is watching every episode of 30 Rock, season 1, which I did not watch at all on TV after the pilot episode, which was inexplicably weak for such an excellent show.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"
bump for The King of Kong
I have been highly recommending this movie, and now that it's available to watch instantly there's no excuse not to see it.
there's a whole thread on this (with spoilers), but basically it's a documentary about a guy trying to break the all-time high score for Donkey Kong. however, it turns into a bitter rivalry of old guard against new with very clear villains and heroes. as daryn said, you will end up rooting for this guy harder than you've rooted for anyone else in your life. do not miss!

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"
Was really bored tonight and decided to check out the Watch Instantly option. So far have watched King of Kong, Cocaine Cowboys, Word Play and Champion (about Danny Trejo). Quality is really good and I have enjoyed all these movies so far. Not sure what to watch next.

Re: Netflix "Watch Instantly"
I hop they get more TV seasons on here. I would love for any HBO season to be added, I'm assuming HBO won't let them. I have been watching Dexter S1, The Office S2, and Heroes since I have never seen that either.
Buying out redbox would be a great idea. It looks like they are already starting to branch out a little bit with the instant viewing, so maybe we will see a drop off location in the near future.

Only issue is internet service being fast enough.
ABC.com is already offering episodes of Lost in HD.
I've watched them on my TV and besides some minor software problems the quality is nearly the same as any other 720p HD.
Streaming 480p should be a breeze at this point.
