I've been watching Trial & Retribution, a good Britcrime series.

VERY confusing what order to watch it in though.

Sets. Series. Seasons. Would Brits please come up with some kind of consistent naming convention?

pocketas227,

My only dissapointment so far has been butch cassidy.

I know the movie is critically acclaimed but I just didn't get hooked. Most of the movie seemed to be the cat and mouse hunt throughout the country and then 10 minutes of newspaper headlines. Maybe I was in a bad mood because I just shut it off then and there. Is the ending what makes this movie?

I got the recommendation from instantwatcher.com, are there any similar sites that are even better?
+1 pretty funny how the people die. Also the tv show Monk is hilarious I've been doing a marathon of that for a couple weeks.

Portlandia was decently funny and I got a few lulz from it. It doesn't have to just be for Portland people. If you've lived in any college town it will probably ring true.

I especially liked this bit:

I love color of money, for years it was my favorite movie because before I played poker I had ambitions of being a pool hustler, if you like the hustler you'll probably like color of money.

I can't stand how Netflix will move titles in and out of what is available to watch instantly. I remember watching one of my favorite films last year "Hard Eight" and felt like watching it again tonight. Now it's no longer available and I can only get it through the mail. I suppose I could always download it off of newsgroups.

yeah that really is the worst thing about WI, I can't tell you how many times I went to watch something only to find out it's no longer available

Just finished modern True Grit, glad it was on instant I liked it alot although the last 1/4 of the movie seemed a bit rushed

Also making my way through Peepshow, so many great episodes but s4e4 "handyman" really stands out to me as awesome. Very rare that I actually lol during a show but this episode had some great moments.

edit: just finished all of series 4, series 1-3 were overall funny but sometimes hit or miss but this was pure gold almost all the way through

If anyone enjoyed history class and likes documentaries, The West by Ken burns is pretty good.

For less serious tastes, watched Office Space for the first time in quite a while, still holds up.

The Color of Money is ok on its own and worth a viewing, but it doesn't touch The Hustler. I choose to believe they are unrelated to each other.

Oddly enough, I have this issue occasionally when I watch DVD's on my PS3. I watched all six seasons of Sopranos through Netflix (not streaming, LC warning!) and once every 3 or 4 discs, I'd start an episode and all the sound was fine except voices were almost mute. Cycling through the audio choices until I got back to "1 English" always fixed it though.

Finally watched Senna.
So amazingly personal and compelling. Highly recommend.

That they had the footage they did is just wow, and makes the doc.

They added the orignal Rollerball to IW. James Cann is so awesome on many levels.

right. "having an opinion" = "doing it wrong" -- i don't think this equation is balanced.

S4E5 was one of the most horrifying things I've ever seen on a TV show. I've never felt so terrible for laughing so hard at something so disgusting/shameless, I don't see how any American sitcom even on like HBO could pull something like that off, it was fantastic.

I really do wish that Netflix would put more mainstream new releases on their WI section, but one good thing that I can say is that it has allowed me to watch a lot of television shows that were good but did not have a long shelf life. I am a fan of the movie "Hackers" (which is on WI btw) so I always regretted that I never saw Jonny Lee Miller in "Eli Stone". I'm sure I could've downloaded it at some point but it was very convenient that both seasons were on Netflix. Went through every episode in 3 days btw.

Eli Stone got a lot of hate because of promos during Lost (and because a ton of people thought it sucked), but I really really enjoyed the series and was sad to see it go.
