Hmm... Not a problem for me. ESPN 3, plus lots of channels show stuff online legally. Loads of illegal stuff as well.

For me personally, high speed internet is the must have, cable tv not even close.

gotta agree. I hate the new interface and the titles are terrible, and I'd still easily pay 2-3x what I'm currently paying

the streaming site I've been using this season is so good that the paranoid schizo part of my brain thinks it must be some kind of gov't sponsored ip logging trap

Yep, sports is the main reason I have cable as well. Plus it only costs me an additional $30/month on top of my internet (so whole package is ~$90/month), not sure where people are getting $100/month just for cable. I figured out a long time ago that I tend to spend much more than that $30/month if I have to go to sports bars to watch games so it saves me money to have cable. (Yes I should probably be paying less for internet. I've been meaning to call them for a while)

Most of the shows I currently watched just ended their season (or 1/2 season) but they included Psych, Community, IASIP, Parks and Rec, Mythbusters, Survivor, and Leverage.

for me it's baseball and football that make it a must-have. I don't even watch football that much but friends and family like to have it on if they come by on a Sunday.

and some thinks that make it a nice-to-have are being able to flip through channels when bored and have access to random things like Olympic trials, bad movies on tbs, and food network shows.

also I guess it's not an issue for some of the younger people here, but not having cable (or equivalent service like dish or fios) is pretty unacceptable for an adult with a job if you regularly have people over to your place.

I'm digging Dead Like Me so far. Dark humor with just the right amount of drama, and all the characters are fairly well-acted and likeable except for the blonde. 2 seasons and a movie were probably enough for this, though.

The movie is fairly dire. Patinkin brought a lot to the show.

I need help finding a particular movie. All I can remember is a scene from the trailer. I thought Jenny McCarthy was in it but IMDB doesnt show anything. Im pretty sure the movie was released within the last 3 years. It seemed like the typical post breakup comedy type movie and I can remember the female lead is looking at a dress and when told the price she decides to pass on it. Right at the moment she recieves a text from her ex showing himself with vivacous cuties fawning over him, which of course leads her say "I'll take it!!".

Thats all I can remember. Any help would be appreciated.

I really need to start doing this. There are so many great shows to pick from I get overwhelmed and panic, and then I just watch Arrested Development for the 800th time.

to be fair, watching AD for the 800th time is probably better than the vast majority of other things you could watch

The allure of love. The trailers have been all over the last few months and I distinctly remember because it looks so awful.

I disagree, I think this is an easy 4 season show that got hit with bad marketing and bad ratings.

Epic two minutes of entertainment. The movie "Thankskilling" is one of the worst movies I've ever attempted to watch, but the opening sequence, probably a minute or two long, is must see. Honestly though, don't watch even a second longer than that.

lol. I watched that ThanksKilling intro and then skipped ahead a couple times to randomly see what I would come across.

At one point, the turkey was wearing someone's head as a mask or something. This movie looks like it has all kinds of awful in it.

ahahahah +1, so good

Ive always wondered though about these kinds of movies. What % do you guys think are intentionally bad vs movies that the makers think are awesome?

I imagine they think they're setting out to do something decent, and then as it develops they slowly realize it's a hunk of crap. From that point they just have fun with it.

At least, I think.

Have I mentioned Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid in this thread before?

Available on Netflix now (don't think it was before). Mostly unknown compared with most of Steve Martin's work.

Black and white film in which Martin impressively plays a 1940's film-noir style private eye. Incorporates scenes from a bunch of real 1940's films and has those characters playing actual roles in the film. So basically you have Martin talking with the likes of Humphrey Bogart, Burt Lancaster, Vincent Price, James Cagney, Ingrid Bergman, Veronica Lake, etc.

Fans of either early Steve Martin comedy OR 1940's film noir should enjoy I would think. Might be kind of slowish for some? Some of the jokes miss the mark too. But I've loved this flick since I first saw it in 1982 when I was 11.
