That's what she said.

I've watched 8 episodes of GLOW and thought it's been pretty good so far.

I think both general audiences and people like me who have spent years playing and following chess will really appreciate this. Very interesting.

I started watching Halt and Catch Fire a couple days ago and I'm hooked and half way through s3. It reminds me a lot of early HoC, entertaining, well made, looks good, (mostly) well acted, but in the back of my mind I can't help thinking what a giant, melodramatic cheese ball it is. It also seems to take itself very seriously, lol.

7/10 Entertaining, good show, but trash TV compared to the real golden age stuff.

"Funny" quote from a Woody Allen play I'm reading (part of "Relatively Speaking"). Characters talking about whether marriages should try to stay magical or just kinda get boring and asexual:

"There's a lot to be said for inertia in marriage. Especially now with Netflix."

Prob old news but took some recs off a list of Netflix hidden gems - only one I'd recommend is The Invitation, pretty decent thriller.

El chapo thru two eps though I like this type of show a lot so my standards are probably lower. Definitely not as good as narcos so far but that's a tough comp.

It is not as good correct. It has real pacing issues which you'll get to later on in the season.

That being said, still a good watch

i tried to watch el chapo a while ago

is it just me and the way my eyes/brain work , but are the subtitles tricky to follow.

They seem to either go too fast, or the name of the person who is speaking is before the sentence etc, i found it very off putting from whats going on on the screen.

Made it through Glow. Definitely in for another season. Found the original Pilot on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwbNjHfoNn4

You will notice several discrepancies from the real show but the premise holds up. During the end credits of the last episode they show a couple scenes at the TV station. The equipment shown pretty much nails the gear used during that era. That is rare.

Enjoyed GLOW, but doubt I would watch more. Worked for me as a one-time thing.

Im kind of in this range. I have a hard time seeing where exactly the series goes after this. Possibly into the pitfalls of stardom and the fallout of being known? Im not really sure.

Ya GLOW is worth 1 run through, the main guy character is worth it alone. Brie is a trainwreck most of the time but she looks good in some parts...is it just me or is Gilpin (Debbie) ridiculously hot?
