I like Stephanie, although it's overused around here. Another name I've only heard once or twice and really struck me as awesome was Vera (Vee-ra or Vay-ra).

Also, Rita's daughter's name is Astrid on the show Dexter.

Well, it's not pronounced like "If I trip I'm gonna fall on you." And Swinn Cash is a WNBA player. Women's pro basketball jokes aside, don't even tell me you don't think that's a kick-ass name!

Ok, so maybe I've fallen a little under the sway of the bizarre celebrity baby naming trend. I have odd taste, what can I say. At least I didn't put Suri and Pilot Inspektor. Though I do kind of like Shiloh....

Religious Spanish girls names are the worst:

Purificacion
Encarnacion
Inmaculada
Concepcion (though this can be shortened to Concha, which I rather like)

Read an article about parents in New Zealand who named their kid Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii. Child was made a ward of the court until the parents changed the name.

I like Penn Jilette's daughter's name: Moxie Crimefighter. Sure, it's goofy and there's some teasing that can be done a little bit (though guys get teased more for their names than girls; girls get teased for appearance), but for the rest of her life she can say her middle name is Crimefighter, and also just calling someone "Moxie" is pretty cool.

I think the implication is that since it is possible to be a little bit slutty, it is also possible to be a little bit married

Grunch:

Neveah is the worst girl's name EVER. Not counting the ridiculous ones you see on the "missing children" all at your local Wal-Mart, of course.
