Do people eat Coyote? Or are they hunted for "sport" like pigs pic shows?

That's not a coyote. Up north they are usually killed when they cause problems killing livestock. Or, according to the Alaska/Mountain Man tv shows, if they are seen around town. It indicates they aren't afraid of man as they usually are, and will inevitably attack children or sled dogs. The pelts are valued as well.

Coyotes are hunted for various reasons. Sometimes for sport, and the pelts. Sometimes they overpopulate an area. Don't know if they still do it, but sometime the Game Management departments will put a bounty on them until the population is reduced enough to balance out the ecosystem. Predator population is important to control because when they get out of hand, the prey suffers (obviously) but the predators do also. They starve and get weaker as a whole. Better to cull the population and the remaining predators be healthy. It's somewhat common for game management to fly around in helicopters and shoot them from the sky, which imo is a very expensive and inefficient way to get the job done.

Actually, in Glendale, CA, coyotes hunt you. They haven't bitten any people so fish & game won't do anything about them, but they take cats and small-ish dogs all the time. Most people, myself included, carry a stick or other weapon when walking their dogs late night / early morning.

I assume people in rural areas just shoot them, but's it's not an option with urban coyotes. As for eating them, the ones around here eat a lot of trash, so heck no.

That must be why no one shows up to their games since the Coyotes are in Glendale, California when they are supposed to be in Glendale, Arizona.

Coyote populations are usually pretty self-limiting. Lots of deaths via anvils falling on them, etc
