I got a little too close for comfort to a wolf while driving through the Atigun Pass in Alaska a couple of years ago. It was just starting to go from heavy snow to blizzard, and like a moron I got out of the car to take a better photo. He trotted away a little bit, stopped & waited for me to follow, then trotted away a little bit again, stopped & waited for me to follow again, and so on. It wasn't until the third iteration of this that I realized he was leading me off into the wilderness to eat me. That is when I finally figured out I should probably head back to the car. As soon as I started heading back, he slowly trotted back over towards me. I made it back to the car much faster than I left from it.

No one on this message board is taking an adult wolf. They are nothing but pure muscle and teeth.

I'll be the first internet bad ass to say I feel confident I could take on a single 100 lb wolf in mortal combat in a neutral environment. (6'1, 210 lbs, reasonably good shape). Let's call the neutral environment a forest with minimal undergrowth. Daylight hours.

The line drops to about +4000 wombat when there are two wolves, or hell, a wolf+agitated beaver.

That wolf sounds like a pussy for trying to seduce you toward his pack rather than man up.

No weapons? I will pay money to watch this. I'll even take a few days off work to fly to Montana.

Why chase your lunch when you can fool it into coming to you?

Despite what wikipedia would have you believe, I'm pretty certain that wolves weigh in at 250 lbs. minimum.

Lol at all you guys thinking you could take on a wolf. My dog could whip your butt and he is a giant pussy cat. Actually my deceased cat who was tiny I would have given a chance against some of you

I've spent the past hour reading about wolves and I'd like to change my position. I'd get smoked 1v1.

Too late!

wolves have teeth, claws, and a predatory instinct. A lot of you would lose to a large angry dog. Why the **** do you think you could beat a wolf? Someone trained in combat, sure. But lol @ the average 2p2er being like oh yea no problem.

like what's your gameplan? put it in a headlock? beat its face in before it tears your arm into pieces? hope it doesn't grab your throat?

it appears a lot of you have never watched the grey

Wolf : Liam Neeson :: Bear : Leo Dicaprio?

My two GSDs together could easily take me down. But then I couldn't throw balls for them, pet them, feed them, and give them treats.

GSD = German Shepherd Dog

Taking provider down is low priority on their to-do list, behind invading Poland and cats:the final solution.

first they came for the squirrels in the yard, and nobody spoke out.

This tilts me every time. Almost as much as golden retriever owners refer to their dog as a "retriever" when asked what breed they own.

I doubt that most of the posters on this forum are man enough to wear an awesome wolf t-shirt, much less defeat a full grown wild wolf.

Extract? (With pole!)

Guilty as charged. It's just easier to type. I had never seen the term until we read several books on raising German Shepherds. I don't know why dog cognoscenti started to do this, but all of them do.

does anyone use a system for organizing work emails?

i just leave everything in the inbox. seems to work ok for me, but i've heard this isn't the best way.
03-06-2017 , 09:58 AM
My inbox is my to-do list. Everything else gets filed, doesn't matter where because of search.
03-06-2017 , 09:59 AM
I do no organization other than aggressively deleting useless stuff, but I only get like 10 meaningful ones a day
03-06-2017 , 10:05 AM
google inbox manages it pretty well automatically
